According to the Guiness Book, the fastest pigeon ever clocked in a race was owned by Vigeon & Son of England in 1965. The bird was clocked at 3229 ypm, which translates to 177 km per hour. The individual pigeon is unknown today, but was considerably faster than Bolt. It is said that the whole race was pushed by a very strong tail wind that created record speeds.

@arselpigeonvlogs Another great standout is Jacob Poortvliet's "Frau Auntje". She was considered the fastest pigeon in the Netherlands as a yearling when she raced vs. 37,000 birds. I have a half dozen of her grandchildren here in my stock loft and many great grandchildren.
