You need to have leashes with you so when you are already close to the dog you can put the leash around their neck, otherwise they run away like the mother and 2nd puppy did. Even when you are hand feeding, you can feed them so they put their neck through the leash loop. Watch Hope for Paws videos in the US.
I agree with the suggestions of have a ‘lucky leash’. Eldad and Loretta of Hope for Paws in LA, USA have a great technic to reassure and avoid stress for rescuing puppies and their mothers. 🐶💕

Sometimes ones needs patients to catch the homeless dogs. Try to learn from Eldad "hope for paws". He takes his time, he put his efforts to let them trust his good deeds. And voila he got them into safety without feeling scared but instead they feel the love and kindness they have lost.

You guys are the best. One day, everyone will become an animal advocate and rescuer, until there is no problem left to fix. Once everyone is educated, and encouraged through your example, it will catch on, and every person will become pro-active towards animals rights, and needs.
