Ive had a few shoes from this company ive really loved them. I believe i might get the armadillo model looks good. I really like the macV from goruck but they are expensive.

Thanks for the review, Brother! I remember when you first got those. A couple weeks ago, I finally got one of those alpenflage boonies from the German guy 👍
I've been extremely happy with my Jim Green Razorbacks. Super high quality and not crazy expensive. They're holding up great after 3 years of hard use and when the sole needs it, it can be replaced. I've slowing migrated to repairable/long lasting goods as much as possible now. The more hardcore or serviceable the better in my book.
@Thepreppersbunkeroutdoors definitely worth checking out. Under 200 and they're handmade full grain leather. Actually learned about them from Rose Anvil funny enough. He said they were one of the best values in boots and I figured he would know and I have to say they're excellent. A bit stiff and take breaking in but now that they're broken in they're very comfortable and have a nice wide fit to them which is great for longer hikes when more narrow boots start to feel restricted by the end of the day.
Good stuff. I needed boots with a metatarsal guard to save my feet from rocks rolling on top of my boots. Went to Red Wing and bought a pair of their Irish Setter Kasota’s that were around $230 at the time. The first 2 months it took to break in were so bad and I blew through the soles too fast. Major let down. Back to Timberland Pros.
I think boot reviews might be the most important reviews that there can be because they are so dang expensive that learning what you like and what works is not only expensive- It's also painful. I wish we saw more boot and shoe channels honestly.
Ive been using Miltec boots for more than 10 years now a lot of people shit talk them but for the price of them they do last a GOOD time. Same with my steel toe boots I wear for work are V12 boots and they have lasted all though all the work I have done and do so I keep buying them every few years. I picked up some German army jungle boots last year brand new for £45.00 they look a bit like the US boots from the Vietnam war but are better made. Thank you for the video.
Honestly imo a sole should be the only part of a quality boot that wears and a quality boot will have replacable soles like take a look at your Georgia or Carolina loggers the soles are literally screwed onto the shank and if you wear out the treads then theyre easily rebuilt and then without any break-in requirements you're back into yur favorite comfortable boots with a new breath of life underneath them... A good boot should be servicable and rebuildable made out of good quality thick leather...
Sadly cobblers are a dying breed- and a lot, not all, but a lot or even most shoes with replaceable soles are heavier and with less support than is ideal for a hiking specific boot
@Thepreppersbunkeroutdoors come on bro, you've lived near a base and there are numerous places where you could go to get your combat boots resoled so yes while the oldschool shoe repair folk are few and far between there still are plenty of options to get a boot resoled and in most cases the company that manufacturers them likely will sell the soles a d most anyone can screw it on themselves but I do agree these types are a much heavier boot but I live where the snow is deep and heavy boots are a necessity I do think I still have my original Nam era jungle boots with the waffle soles and those things are more comfortable than any Nike or reebok I've ever owned lol
@kevinAuman1 not anymore man, they are around but I'm telling ya, I have seen them closing myself. Even a lot of the new boots like these rocky s2v's arent resolable- making a living fixing good shoes is a hard place to be right now
I have worn just about every tactical boot that I could think of, from the very expensive, to Amazon cheapo. The nature of wearing a tactical boot, comes from the service. Nothing’s gonna be better than what we had, in the service, but there are certainly more comfortable fitting boots. About those boots: Under Armor boots are hands down, the most comfortable boots I’ve ever worn. The caveat, those boots don’t last. The under armor boots will last 6 months and then you have to replace them. I have had everything from velsets 1-2, to speed freaks and everything in between. Under Armor boots are not durable enough to be a service boot, however for the 6 ish months you get to enjoy them, I’ve yet to find anything better. There is a lot of good traction on a new pair of under armor boots I do what we call landslide walking boots, and what that is, is actually busting your shit moving balls to the wall the speed of a chimpanzee barreling through the wood line and across the river or on the river bank, and I’ve trained myself to jump backwards and down into the bank to prevent myself from falling g face first into the river.. neat trick, should try it sometime. Anyways, under Armour boots have great traction too bad they don’t last. Honorable mention was tactical Blackhawk boots had the perfect soul when you walk on the riverbed you can’t even see your footprints. It just looks like rocks or divots anyways, compadre just stopping in to say hello. Hope all is well. Merry Christmas. Happy New Year’s God bless.
I do like the lightweight boots from blackhawk or underarmor, rocky, etc- but I always hated them in the field. I found these rocky's to be the best in between. The light weight boots when repelling out of a helicopter will melt right through the soles, and they can be destroyed in a single field problem. Issue boots last forever but they have comparable poor ankle support and they are tall and don't grip very well. The s2v's in between have super low rise soles, TONS of stability, are pretty long lasting, but grip much better. I liked having 3 sets of boots- a clean set for garrison, a set for the field, and a set for when we did pt in boots. That was a set of nice rocky s2v's, a set of older rocky s2v's, and a set of various brands of the light weight boots that I wore through pretty quickly.
I’ll never wear a boot from West Taiwan. Call me unpatriotic. There are good American boots which fit my wide feet. I’m willing to pay more to keep Americans employed. I’d even wear ‘cruit boots. Keen, Danner, Wolverine are made in the USA. I am American. OIF/OEF
@onerider808 you would rather get your boots from nam and have the doubled price you pay go to pinko commies in the US? That's a weird stance for a patriot. Most wolverine boots are made in China, and most are crap. What good American Hiking boots fit your wide feet? How much of this video did you watch before you started commenting?

Every foot is different, thus there is no perfect boot. Ruck a hundred miles in them and you’ll know.
