Was always debating a Redcat Ascent 1/18th crawler to buy, but liked the Traxxas TRX4M body Defender better. BOOM...Redcat releases the Scout version of the Ascent this past Wednesday which is way better for less. Sorry Traxxas.
Element RC makes a 1/12 scale crawler And I believe hobby wing came out with ESC and motors with FOC for the crawler line 1/18 scale that I'm sure you could make work
I feel ya on the back problems. I had my first back surgery at 27, and I’ve been dealing with a pinched nerve the last few days here. The struggle is real. Definitely makes it a challenge to try to get out and run trucks and make videos.
@ yea, I went down the chiropractor road for a few years, seemed to help for a bit but not for long. The cold and wet weather definitely plays hell with jacked up joints and all the plates and pins and screws I’ve got. Getting older is rough, I can’t imagine how stoved up and crippled I’ll be when I actually get “older”, definitely not looking forward to it.
I have a few rigs. Trailfinder2 LWB Scottsdale, Redcat gen 8 V2 (purple) and 2 of the HG trucks. I have fun with all of them. They all have their strengths and weaknesses but I tend to like the ones that look and run like their 1:1 scale counterparts. Plus the larger scales are easier for me to see when I'm working on / modifying them
I've seen people take the fms fj45 and flip the axles under the leaf springs and put bigger tires on it looks pretty awesome 🤔 and the fms k10 1/18 is rather large but your right not a lot of choice in 1/12. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome episode Gerry ! You got everything lookin good , great ranting and raving . The dogs are incredible your a lucky man ! I had an idea after seeing your indoor course I wonder if you sprinkled some sand or dirt even small rocks/gravel on the spray foam while it’s drying might give it some kool texture for cheap but I suppose with the snow your getting that would be hard to come up with 😅 really looks awesome it’s guna be fun watching the trucks on there good buddy thanks for everything
Thanks for the kind words, the dogs are definitely a highlight! I've tried sand, dirt, rocks. Sprinkled on the paint, spray adhesive and dirt, trucks just seem to rip it off.
Element 1/12 and the new venture Single cab toyota pickup, and maybe one of the redcat mini offerings, the link ascwnt would look good in your collection

He's a great guy and he makes some nice 3D printed scale items and he has some nice builds as well. I've tried to talk him into doing some video collaboration but I think he's just been burned. I'm with ya on Redcat as company goes they've stepped up high IMO. I think HPI will come at the crawler game hard now I'll be watching then close now. Great video as usual. I probably vented to hard in that video but I felt that stuff needs brought to attention. Good show jolly good show
You can never rant to hard! I loved it. Fred is great but can get pushy at times and that might rub some the wrong way. But I do miss his little channel once he got into 3d printing he has made some nice rigs! As for hpi agree and now I can bring my old venture out!
I started watching travel channels right before we bought our travel trailer and subbed to a bunch of channels to learn. Did the same with rc. I un-subscribed to most rv channels because all along, they were selling stuff and giving little to no camping tips. Rc channels are the same. I subbed to learn and ended up un-subscibing to the big channels because they stopped instructing and went to selling. I make rc music videos with some cameos 😅 not selling anything because I'm a consumer in this hobby. A spectator and a small creator. You and those I sub to are not fronts for foreign distributors. Hell, you guys are consumers who are rc advisors and anylists. Now that is worth paying for!

Probably better not. :) At 70, I really don't care what anyone thinks about my thoughts or opinions concerning this "Traxxas Hate" situation and the mindless pimps that promote it. Or the toxic channels that I could name that give that toxic waste a home.. Some of these YT channel people and they are just simple "people" like anyone else on this planet.. think that they reach a certain amount of subs and now they are like some little YT god and wield ultimate POWER!!!! And really all that's happened to them is they've become delusional and have visions of grandeur dancing around in their little noggins.. They can't tell reality from "cyber space" and that leaches out into the real world where people who don't like A.H.s live! Not to hard to figure out what happens then... I've seen it happen to one person and he did reap what he sewed. :) Well, I said some of it and now I'll go feed my dogs and give my little aussie some love!
Now thats a great rant! Totally agree on all points, people will always be treated well on my channel cause I love interacting will everyone here! Thank you for being here.

Element's 1/12 aren't bad. The 1/12 Bushido is on scale with the 1/10 RC4WD TF2.
Check those out and definitely gonna try one, it's the same as the cr12

Had neck surgery, and use a chiropractor but haven't seen her in a while! And all this snow isn't helping
