Love everything about this, Jon! Stumbled across this video and your channel last night while browsing recaps of the Apple event. I was delighted by your pairing of Apple-leaning tech stuff with music creation, and shocked by how freaky similar our musical tastes are (loved your walk through of James Blake’s gorgeous new record and have similar excited feelings about the new Sufjan record). I’m also a singer/songwriter and a dad and tech geek. Last night, I went to bed and told my wife about your channel and said “I feel like I just met my twin!” ;-) Maybe the TH-cam algorithm DOES work LOL.
Great video, probably shot on an iPhone 14 Pro. 😉 iPhones are really capable machines, and like you said you can write an album on it, but that's a super minority of people that do that. I'm in a different boat, in that I use the iPhone as an additional sound source that goes into my DAW, that I really like. I think the only major improvements for music will come in November/December when they announce the new chipset, if they do.
