I was cutting myself because I am being bullied and then I heard this song and it is helping a little. I'm seeing a psychologist now to help and he plays this song. Thanks to Demi I can actually smile. I am a guy and I look up to her nothing wrong with that.

This is definitely me to my father. As a child, he always beat the crap out of me, singled me out, and was just an overall terror. When I was 13, he was very suddenly disabled for life and had to be stuck in a nursery home (where he is now), and everyone expected me to feel all bad for him and want him back etc but no, "maybe you shouldn't come back." I'm 20 now, and throughout all these years, I have never shed a single tear over him and his plight, because he's certainly not worth my time. I know some think that's a bit harsh, but I don't think love should be given just because someone's blood-related to you, it has to be earned, and my father was anything but a father.
agreed! blood isn't what matters, and sure maybe they deserves a little more love or patience, but there's definately a limit and abuse of any kind shouldn't be accepted! if you have say a step father who treated you like his own and a father totally different - then I know personally who I would call dad. hope all is good now x

You have to live for you and try to be happy. If you let a sense of obligation to someone control you it becomes like a sickness and you only enable the abuser. If someone is hurting you, get away from them. They don't have the right to hurt you just because they gave birth to you. You deserve better, and you can love from a healthy distance.

This is me with my mom. At 9 years old my mom kicked my dad out the house she started to beat the shit out of my older brother and me. But mostly to my brother. Every small chance she got she hurted him and basically bullied him by calling him "Son of the devil" or " Anorexic". But when I turned twelve she got fed up with us and kicked us out and let us live with our dad. For a year we had to live in a one bedroom apartment but I was way better than in that hell hole. Now I am sixteen and my older brother is eighteen and he has a full scholarship to Ole Miss, a 31 on ACT and ,Battalion Commander.And I won section of the year for my band and in advanced classes now she decides to show up. And deny everything she has done. Hell no!!!! If we were still living with her we wont be part of any thing. Maybe you shouldnt come back. Sorry for being so harsh but she done alot more abused than physically

He thinks that just because he's got a company and a lot of money he can treat me like a shit and just throw some money at me expecting me to forget all the harsh words he said towards me ... I love this song. It also made me realize that the relationship I was in made no sense anymore. I had been really sad for a while, and then my songs were on suffle mode and this one came on and I just couldn't stop crying. Honestly, Demi has always helped me through everything, as cliché or repetitive this may sound.

This song reminds me of my dad, he and my mom divorced when I was a little over a year and he missed every birthday, every school event, everything since then and im about to be 16. People ask what I want for my birthday but the truth is the only thing I want is to see him but im not sure if I should. He never calls anymore and if he does magically call its full of promises that never come through he seems to count my stepsiblings more as his own kids then me, I guess I jus want to be his daughter for once. My mum and my dad divorced this summer, in the worst way it could happen, and I miss my dad so much, for personal reasons we haven't seen each other in 3 weeks, this is my first Chrismas without him... The worst thing is that I have a little sister, she's 6, she is suffering, she doesn't understand what is happening at all... this song is definetely for my dad . When I was a 7-year-old kid he got in problems with the police and so did my mom . Me and my little brother had to go to another country and live with our grandparents during almost 6 years . He missed so many birthdays , and then when I finally went back to him and my mom , he started always telling me how fat and worthless I am . He thinks that just because he's got a company and a lot of money he can treat me like a shit and just throw some money at me expecting me to forget all the harsh words he said towards me ... "fat legs" , "ugly" , (...) and then he still asks me why I dont answer when he offers me his helps because he sees me sad . Maybe because I just cried too much .. because I got tired of cutting my left hand everytime he insults me for dumb reasons just because i'm not as good as the girls who work at his agency who're also 18 , or things like that . Why did I came back ? why did HE came back into my life if he never really cared about pissing off the feelings of a human being who has the same blood as him running through my veins ... :'(
