These are awesome. I have a couple of brought ones, but here they’re nearly AU$160 each for Hercules’ 20’ and AU$280 for 40’ Where did you get your files from. My printer won’t print that high but I’ve printed in halves and glued together. Doing it like that could make it look like a weld line.
Thanks for the comment friend. The file I believe I purchased from cults. Ya printed two halves could work! Of all the containers i have seen out there, these are the most scale looking I think.
Fantastic!! The Weathering looks legit. I love those Patina Kits. Got mine from Hobby Lobby. The others look as close to perfect as they can be!! I watch Union Pacific haul those near my Apartment daily. I have a good image of them, and you captured it!! 👌😎😉
Thanks Carmine, yes I just bought another of those kits from hobby lobby when I was in Washington couple months ago. I'm getting excited like a little girl again because I'll be in Washington again in a couple weeks and first stop is gonna be Hobby Lobby!! I love that store! All we have is a watered down Michaels up here, nothing like HL. YA it seems everybody has some kinda story or relation to these sea containers, they really are a global thing. Glad you liked it buddy! My buddy is in Arizona as we speak. I literally just got off facetime with him and he was riding horses around. His mom has a place near Prescott I think? Its a beautiful 45+ community. Golf courses, pools etc. I can't wait to come down. You anywhere near there?
@@westernsharpie I'm in Tucson, so about 130 miles away. An easy 2 hour drive. Prescott is nice. It's a town that's both Mountains and Desert. The only one I know of.
All this work you did on the containers is really great, I really like the one you aged, it's true that we see a lot of them like that. For the red, given the problem you had with the printer, you could make it aged and very damaged, a bit like it had received a shock, I think that would be good. At the time when I was still in import / export I received containers, and some were in really bad condition, and I saw some that even had holes.
Thanks Pascal, yes I think when when they get all damaged like that, there is some beauty to it. Thats why most people love to see them all rusty. I use to drive a semi and many times pull these things. I would look at them and think how cool they were knowing where they have been and all over the world. All the different hands that have touched them and now I am pulling it around, stopping to get a coffee. Not sure what I want to do with the little one. I definitely want to make more damaged ones, but I also want to make the little storage container out of it because that might be another item people will be interested in purchasing. Yes it would also look good tucked into your park as well. You used to work in a port?
@@westernsharpie I have often towed this kind of small container model, most of them were furniture storage for people who left their belongings in storage. I worked for a long time with the port of Marseille to bring containers to import-export companies, I drove trucks for several years, but now I'm on disability, I really miss not being able to drive trucks anymore. There are still a lot of damaged containers, although they are replaced from time to time, but the price of a container has increased a lot here, so I think we will see very damaged containers for a long time to come. And then the sea salt attacks everything. So it will always be an eternal restart 😊
@@satorrotas cool story, Pascal, I do wish you good health and recovery. You were one of the first youtube channel i had found and was inspired by and i'll never forget that. Marseille is the gate way to the Mediterranean so it must be very busy. My name is Thomas btw ☺
@@westernsharpie Yes the port of Marseille is a giant anthill, but you quickly get used to moving around in it, and I still have contact with trucker buddies 😊 My disability is permanent, i have multiple sclerosis, but i got used to it now. It's true that we've been following each other for a long time and I'm still in awe of your work. I like the details and you are really very talented Thomas 😊
Nice definitely impressed by your skills and patience in making these containers I have a business hauling these type of containers out ports around the country and I will tell you the details on these containers you made are exact to the real ones even the way the doors open with the little handles thanks for sharing let me know we're to buy them and how much if you're ready to sell them very nice very nice 😀
Thanks pal, Ya I drove semi for 11 years and hauled them around myself so I've always been familiar with the details of them. Glad you liked them. There's a link to my FB page in the description where most of the stuff I make I sell there. It's not a website or anything, just a little page to show of my bits. I'm thinking around 700 seems fair for a container. Lots of work to make just one. Anyway you can message me there if you like and we can chat some more. Thanks for stopping by.
It's gorgeous❤. I have been in this hobby for more than 10 years with pleasure I will buy this masterpiece from you. But unfortunately I can’t buy 3D printing files without contacting you. My hobby suffers I am from Russia.
Thanks, ya, they're extremely labour intensive and costly to make and the price is a reflection of that. Being printed and hand made there are some imperfections, from the print to the vinyl decals. I don't have a website, more of a side thing i do on Facebook. If you send me a friend request and message there, we can go over the details and price etc. link to my page is in the description. 👍
Thanks Freddy. Those trailers were just the Tamiya flatbeds i've been working on. I can load them on those fine, but ideally a chassis trailer would be best. After the tankers i'll try to get a nice scale chassis trailer made up maybe a tiny little 20' chassis or a 40' chassis that you can put two 20 footers on, like the real thing. There might be something that already exists that I can fabricate a bit as these containers are a little smaller than the Tamiya ones, so they might not fit on the Tamiya container chassis. Hey I that print shop lady about my idea for the Petro Can logo and she said it would be super easy to make. Soon as I get it made, I'll show you and if you want one it'll be super easy for her to make another. I'm back and fourth from Nanaimo from time to time we can meet up or if you're up here or I can easy enough put it in a bubble mailer for you. Talk soon 👍

Amazing detail. I can see the rusty one converted into a hunting camp.
Thanks Gary, ya so many applications for these rascals. Thanks for the comment!
They look fantastic. And very realistic
Ya they sure are, much nicer than the Tamiya design. Thanks pal
