      I am sorry you did as you are better off without any guide. Singapore food is derivative of mainland Malaysia as the residents of Singapore originally came from Peninsula Malaysia before they break away in 1967.

    • @eamesho7723
      @eamesho7723 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@hangtuah888 i beg to differ. I think the guide did a wonderful job and probably beyond what we could see behind the camera with the stories and history of Singapore. He also introduced alot of different foods that are not commonly featured in TH-cam / blogs. Your claims that residents of singapore originally came from Peninsula Malaysia is already factually wrong. Singapore became 1 with Malaysia (then known as Malaya) in 1963 and it only lasted two years till 1965 before Singapore broke away from Malaysia.

    We just came back from a trip to Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. We spent 3 days in Singapore on the way to and from. I was surprised by the lack of vegetarian food and the lack of recycling facilities in Singapore. What did you think about that side of things?

    • @2Passports1Dream
      @2Passports1Dream  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Since we were staying in little India there was vegetarian food EVERYWHERE! In comparison to a lot of other Asian countries we found a lot of vegetarian food in Singapore. Not too sure about the recycling facilities - we don’t usually look for that, but they seemed to have many incentives of separating trash so they must have plenty!

    • @melongoh1909
      @melongoh1909 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Recycling textiles, cans, bottles, newspapers and so on? You get to see a lot of recycling bins in the public residential housing area. We can recycle cans and bottles for some money back or rewards at the machines in some sports facilities. And sell old newspapers, textiles, old electronic stuffs and metal to the rag and bone man for some money.
      Every month the waste management company will go round the housing estates to collect used items that people want to recycle.

    I don't understand why vegetarian/vegans want to taste their food like animal products. For example , fried tofu that taste like and looks like chicken nugget. Might as well eat the real thing. If I was a vegan , I wouldn't want to taste animals at all.

    Are all the food video showing are organic dishes?
    Are they encourage to eat organic dishes ?
    As organic dishes are tasteless and no much sweetness.
    Should use approved industrial food chemical to enhance the flavor of organic dishes.
    Can make more things in the end.

    Not gonna lie, Singapore is great. But all if these foods originated from Malaysia, and are a lot better in Malaysia. Majority of Singaporeans drive over to Malaysia to Johor Bahru via the Woodlands Checkpoint over the weekend for that very reason. Many even spend their weekends travelling up to Genting spending some cash at the casino and stuff. Everything is cheaper and better there. Singapore is smaller so it’s like a ‘You can get everything everywhere easily accessible’ as opposed to Malaysia where the good stuff requires a local guide or research. Its like a dragon ball search there. Have fun on your travels!!

      That's debatable. I would just say that it is of South East Asia origins. Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia

      Theres always this “claim syndrome” going between malaysians and indonesian when it comes to ‘where food recipes first came from’. Settle down already.

    All the food you have tried are "malaysian food" there is nothing "original" with Sporean food including your teh tarik 😂 Spore was part of Malaysia before splitting away just like Ukraine with Russia. Historically its part of Russia same as Singapore - so historically culture, traditions and food its all historically Malaysia. Dont get confused with all the media from Spore claiming its their food, that is cheating and it annoys Malaysians very much 🤗🤗🤗

      Singapore at one point was on its own. Then joined Malaysia then split. Singapore doesn't belong to Malaysia. It's food origins need not be from Malaysia too. More of a South East Asia influence

    • @KeoNz
      @KeoNz ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Why can't you Malaysians just enjoy the video and stop being so kiasu trying to claim everything? Historically Singapore was only part of Malaysia for 2 years, from 1963 to 1965.
      So you saying Malaysia should claim all of Singapore just because they've been together for2 years? Shameless.
