Bit of a shot in the dark here but being that this is the closest video to my saw I can find...
I have a Makita DPC8132 and the recoil will not retract... The rope initially passed freely and I believe I have solved that problem but I still can't get it to spool back in on its own.
I did have to take it apart last week and re-tie the rope to the handle... Could I have maybe re-wound the rope wrong? (I'll try tomorrow morning but thought I'd see if I could get any guidance before then.)

you dont have to believe me but i work on these. there is no noticable difference between the ek or the dpc. i looked and looked and looked and couldnt figure out why the model was different

@@smallengineguys The EK7301 cylinder pressure reducing valve is on the top, the Dpc pressure reducing valve is on the side, I don't know if it is universal

pretty sure it will be fine your valve will stick out the side . but you can hone out the cylinder and use the piston and rings. they are both 73cc you should be fine. if you want you can pay shipping both ways ill do the rebuild with carb also for 300 bucks it will work like new.
