Yea as a non Muslim (currently studying Islam) this is throwing me off quite a bit. If Sunni claim to be following the true religion of Allah than why are very wealthy Sunni majority nations doing nothing to help Palestine and struggling Shia militant groups with way less resources fighting against the yahood???
@youngman7600 it's important to look at historical context. The very wealthy sunni majority countries for example saudi Arabia or jordan don't help because of their history, it makes more sense to see them as infiltrated or occupied. Their leaders were propped up and funded by britain/America. These sunni majority countries populations overwhelmingly support palestine and their leadership is not representative of them. Historically sunni majority countries and their leadership have supported palestine. It's not a sunni shia issue but an issue of western influence on their leaders
Tolerance means you believe others are wrong or deviant but still accept them as friends or neighbors, not enemy. In the shia sunni differences, Tolerance is better than bigotry or hatred. It is normal we will claim we are in the right path and others are deviants. But only Allah is the judge. It is still a possibility that we would be surprised in the day of judgement because we are actually the deviants. So better tolerate others belief and be not acting as enemy. Leave to Allah to settle our differences.
I mean this with utmost sincerity brother AlHamdulillāh. To say that we might be surprised on Qiyamah shows doubt about one's conviction upon the truth. To doubt even 1% regarding ahlul sunnah being the absolute truth is enough to take one outside of ahlul sunnah. Mere knowledge isn't enough or the idea of "Everyone might turn to be correct or may be I might be wrong" is fatal for one's staying upon ahlu sunnah. One needs to be 100% certian about both the correctness of Islam and Ahlul sunnah otherwise he ceases to be Mulim or a sunni depending on what he doubted. There is scholarly consensus upon this. If someone doubts Islam as in says that "they might turn out to correct on qiyamah" this is kufr and someone believing that a deviant sect might turn out to be correct is also deviance. I dont mean this to belittle. I mean well. If you dont believe what I am saying you can ask a scholar.
