- Physiotherapy as a field of study is very vast and therefore has many specialized specific clinical areas to master in.
Meanwhile, education program for Physiotherapy in the U.S.A has been changed in the year 2000, in accordance with APTA vision 2020, APTA's goal is for all PT's to be on a doctoral level.
BPT’s /MPT’s are advised to get their ‘DPT’, if not now, but should be sooner!! to comply with International standards.
Practicing Physiotherapy in India or Abroad by opening a clinic or doing a job is also a great idea.
Remember, Physiotherapy is more a ground level job, you have to sit with your patient and you have to have sound theoretical and practical knowledge both!! To survive in this field.
While you are learning, Go and get attach to the variety of cases you can...! and add value to the patient condition, no matter how small it is...Improve your skills day by day!! know your mistakes...learn from it..!!
Plan accordingly your career, both in gaining practical knowledge and theory!!
Do some analysis while choosing the college as mentioned in video and don’t forget to check the Recognition/Affiliation of college.

Physiotherapy some realities
1)Major portion of graduates passed out dont have job or working with very less salery many physiotherapist left the field for lively hood
2)5060 physiotherapy graduates passed out each year in south India itself. 200 beded hospital only need 2 physiotherapist . Students passed out previas years remains hear as jobless how many hospitals should be there to accomodate this huge number
3)Job opertunities abroad also reducing substatialy each year, physiotherapist who migrated to US UK Caneda Australia works in supermarket Hotels petrol pumb etc.Many gulf countries now appoints employes who are natives of that country
4)Many hospitals now converting their physiotherapy department to Physical medicine and rehabilitation (PMR)HOD will be physiatrist (MBBS DPMR )role of a physiotherapist in this department is just a helper
5)"Physiotherapists are called as doctors "" these are only just canvasing words of agents during admision. In practical sence none of the hospitals, gov bodies allow this
6)Since there is no regulatory authority for physiotherapy in India somany unautherised practices (quakery)going on in this field This also reduces job opertunities
7)Now a days new threat also there... Bvok physiotherapy that is common in normal arts collage only 3 years, course. Hospitals appoint these people with less salary
8) If a person join BPT who are the benificiaries. Career guidance people who took admission will get commission. Collage authorities will get donation fees fine etc in huge amount after struggling 4 & half years. Private hospitals will appoint him as a trainee (slave)with out salary and charge him thousands for experience cirtificate after some years this physiotherapist will quit physiotherapy field for livelihood

Hello, I'm in 4th year physical therapy , and I'm totally confused about further studies.. I want to study abroad and something related to physical therapy but less stress .. People gave me options of public health management,public care, MBA , nutrition and MPT ofc .. But I feel like physical therapy is not something what I enjoy being in medical field. Dear, there are lot of specialization and non-specialization courses which you can opt based on your interest...choose wisely! as you gonna carry that rest of your life...you need to have passion/interest /love on the subject.. you have chosen, whatever it may be specialization or non-specialization ...thanks!

Dear Ritu and Taania, Thanks for writing to me..! First of all, D.P.T stands for Doctor of Physical therapy and B.P.T stands for Bachelor in Physiotherapy/ Physical therapy.
In the year 2000 the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) passed its Vision '2020 statement', according to which, eventually all PT’s should be on the doctorate level.

Also let me tell you that, DPT may also refer to Diploma in Physiotherapy, I am not sure, which college is offering now this course, but after BPT program came in, Diploma in Physiotherapy has been scrapped by most of the institution. And even government has raised the standards in their recruitment.
All over the world, the physiotherapy standards have been raised and I suggest we need to comply with to stand on International standards.... All the best!

Hi Vishali, I am not sure if your question is whether their is job opportunity in Arm forces? or BPT course in AFMC? well AFMC started with BACHELOR OF PARAMEDICAL TECHNOLOGY (BPMT) COURSES, but Physiotherapy not included in that. and if your question is whether their is job opportunity in Arm forces? yes, there are plenty of job opportunity in Arm forces hospitals..I mentioned in my video th-cam.com/video/x3SlkraEUTM/w-d-xo.html

Dear Fareeda, thanks for commenting, Well I don't know why you have this misconception..Physiotherapy has did and doing tremendous job in Orthopedic, Sports medicine, Cardio thoracic and even in Pediatrics, Geriatrics Obstetrics etc...I remember a patient, whom I visited recently, post-op case of "hernia surgery"...was in pain..confuse.. struggling to relax/calm down...I just corrected his posture (in sleep/sit/stand/walk)..suggested some do's and dont's...that's all !! I can see his relief and happiness and not only just fees but lot of blessings also came along....When you get some free time, please read "Bio-mechanics".. "Human Anatomy" very interesting ! you'll understand what a physiotherapy can do !! Thanks.

Hi Nabeel, you have to pass their license exam in Physiotherapy to practice over their physiotherapy.ca/working-canada ... Also there is another quick way of starting, which most of the student do is to start as a Physiotherapist Assistant (PTA) under Licensed Physiotherapist...and gradually become the licensed physiotherapist..thanks

Well I would say follow your passion...where you feel more interested/comfortable...But, remember doing MBA will not be a physiotherapy anymore!! one more suggestion I would like to give, choose best B-School for MBA..., as you may know that MBA shine is getting faded away day by day...! Dear Moizoddin, Thanks for writing to me, Well, In general, apart from the Autonomous Institute, BPT admission is based on the Merit List is drawn based on the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology in your Intermediate (10+2), If you ask me How many marks? Then I would say, the best score means… the lowest rank in the merit list, it’s simple math’s my dear! Lowest the rank in merit list, brighter the chances in securing the seat in your favorite college…!
As far as Autonomous body’s concern, they may have their own entrance test beside the eligible criteria...check in there website!! All the best!

DPT is a professional doctorate /advance academic degree...whereas in MPT, you master in particular subject of choice/interest...both have their own importance...But in USA MPT is phased out and DPT is only acceptable degree..in case you are planning for the USA..!!
