Ordered one that came in today, thanks for the discount code Rob. This is such a nice watch. I talked to Mimo on the phone about the watch and he was a pleasure to deal with.
OK Rob, over the past couple months, I've watched this video at least half a dozen times. Then, when Macy's put it on sale for $315 and I could pick it up locally, I had to pull the trigger. My only reservation was size since I have a 6-1/2" wrist that usually has an SKX007 on it. My reservations were unfounded. It fits my little wrist just fine. Yes, it has presence and heft, but it has that Seiko magic fit that just, as you once said, "Feels like home." The dive extension does create a slight bulge on the underside, but nothing I can't live with. And the dial. OMG, pics just don't do it justice. It looks better in direct light rather than diffuse because the dial just shimmers. It's a stunner. So glad it's in my collection.
Tim Lara, Excellent! I am excited, this is my first Seiko. Been eyeing a Samurai for about a year, and this edition made me pull the trigger. Thanks for your response.
I just got mine from Mimo last night, love it! Question though, when I pull it out, it hacks, hand winds and all that good stuff... when I am screwing the crown back in, the watch sounds as if it is still manually winding while I am screwing the crown in. Is that normal?
I have 6.5" wrist and when I saw the 44mm case it immediately shocked me as to how large it is. However, I still bought it on black friday and I just got it in the mail. It does not sit too large on my wrist. Actually it looks smaller on my wrist than it is compared to your 7.25" in the video. Strange I know. I guess my wrist is wider than it is tall. Lucky me.
Hey Rob , I first got a look at this thu Long island watch, but he said we would have to put our name on a wait list.😐😮 Then I saw yours and a 35precent saving, wow 😁😎thanks, I ordered mine last night. Thanks Random Rob!
I hated this dial I thought it was garbage. I found a sale for this watch (made in Japan) for 232.00 and decided to buy it since I had no fun colors on my collection. Now I'm completely in love with the watch.
It suddenly occurred to me, isn't this blue dial similar to the Rolex Deepsea D-Blue, with a fading blue horizontal gradient? I like the Seiko take on this style more, though.
If you look at the dial closely it actually mimics the skin of a blue whale not waves. Beautiful dial and beautiful watch. Enjoy your reviews, You have talked me into this watch.
Bought one the minute I first saw it. I used to be like: why buy a dive watch if you barely ever even go swimming, but that dial! And it sits really nice too. Only complaint: I really had to get used to the weight (sized for my 7 3/4" wrist) it comes in at 192 grams. That more than double of my daily snzg (90gr). I tried an silicone strap on it, but now I'm back on metal.
Damn. Purchased the Samurai Pepsi. Then had to pick up the Samurai Padi Pepsi as it improved on the already great Pepsi, now this badass comes along. Can one justify three Samurai.
Gorgeous dial! I really like it but it's getting hard to justify spending all that money on a watch coming with hardlex and a pressed clasp. The 4r35 is a good movement but most microbrands have the nh35 in them for a similar price or cheaper. I love Seiko but their special editions are getting a bit pricey.
Blue is the new black! Always wanted to get a seiko sometimes getting tired of my rolexes. Saw different models of this limited run today thinking of this one or the sea star tissot blue black dial as well.
Love the dial of course. Why the black crown? I get that it kinda blends with the gradient dial but it looks mire like a parts bin piece and like Seiko was out of stainless ones. Also a problem with all samarai models, the crowns guards need to fit the crown better.
This dial is awesome! but works so much better on the Samurai than on the Turtle. So I was a bit disappointed because I'm Turtle guy... I'm curious what your thoughts are on that.
Congrats! The Samurai is a great watch too so, enjoy! I already have two Turtles (srp777 & the PADI)and a also a Samurai (SRPC07) so I decided not to go for either. But man what great dial! Love it on the Samurai. 👌
Hello Rob, Just received this watch from - it looks awesome. Can you tell me where I can get a nice blue silicone strap for this. Will the crafter blue straps that fit the other Prospex Seiko swatches work for this one? Thanks again. Hamish
Like it, don’t love it. Wish there was more gradation from light blue to deep blue and then black on the dial. Wish there was more contrast with the bezel insert. I like the gunmetal bezel and crown.
hey bob ? did MIMO send you original made in japan seiko. i mean does this big discount from MIMO doesnt mean compromise on quality or any thing missing like original box or accessories in box. i hope the is no issue with watch quality
Great question. I will be doing a “faq” or comment review vid soon. I will try to figure out the answer for that video. Honestly never thought about it.
Wish the case had a blasted grey-ish raw steel look without the black accents on beezel/crown. Interesting how the beautiful blue color mixes black horizontally while the SRPC25 *Batman* does the black/blue dial mix on the *vertical* (as shown in bruce williams vid): th-cam.com/video/noFrNMlpcHQ/w-d-xo.html
This is the off Japan mainland model without the J. These are still the same materials with the one exception being the in-house fitment of the 4R36. The Japan mainland model will have "in Japan" between 6~7 and "made" between 7~8. The caseback will state "Japan" not "Japan movement". The non Japan models are commonly now "China" assembled and shipped worldwide with the Japan mainland 4R movement. China's industry now takes in many Indonesian, Taiwan, Korean and South Sea zones. Seiko never really advertise after all business is business. Beware though Oils ain't Oils when buying a "Seiko", I have taken a lot of interest over the decades of the Brand, owned the original 68 Diver 3600 Hibeat in 77 at 17. Have the SPB143j & SPB207j LE. "Japan" models. Please consider this if parting with your cash, it will make a difference to the endurence and value 5 ~ 10 years down the track. Cheers Johno, Brisbane, Australia. :)
Hardlex? No finish on crown? And that jiggly sound...This is a piece of shit watch, only thing attractive in it is that they chose a lively color to paint the face with... hardly any value.
I just got mine as my Xmas present from myself. Absolutely gorgeous dial and top notch machining. Beautiful watch!
Me too man!
Bloody hell, I wasn’t going to buy any more Seikos. But seeing this.................
Will show the turtle today, it is my preferred model.
@@RandomRobReviews you can get this watch now from jomashop for 280
Beautiful watch. Love the save the ocean series..
Ordered one that came in today, thanks for the discount code Rob. This is such a nice watch. I talked to Mimo on the phone about the watch and he was a pleasure to deal with.
This Blue kills me! Thumbs up 👍🤗👍
I pulled the trigger on this bad boy. Bought from Mimo's and used your code. Thanks! Love the channel!
Thomas Ryan how can i buy from them!? i live in Ecuador south america.
Gino Portes I followed think above. I do not k ow if they ship to Ecuador, but I would certainly inquire
The dial is not actually representing waves but furrows from a whale (got that from a seiko catalouge)
wtf is a furrow
Incredible dial and a very versatile watch! Cant wait to try it with Crafter Blue rubber straps!
I just bought this watch and it is fantastic. For the price it is great value and extremely well made. It looks amazing too.
Great looking contrast with the blue dial fading from light to dark!!!

Steven Wymor it looks Uber thick tho.
Got mine from Mimo on Monday and really digging it. Thanks for the deal!
Mimo is good dude.
I just ordered one because of this video. Thanks Random Rob! Just to confirm, it came with the box, papers, and manual, right?
Of course! Mimo is an authorized dealer, so if you were local, you could walk into the store like any proper watch shop!

What a beautiful dial!
Seiko did great job with Dial color and design. Now if they could just nail the QC. Haha

It’s great we have many solid places to buy from. LIW is great too. Mimo working with me is a great thing for all of us.
how was ur experience. did u buy from MIMO. did they send u made in japan seiko ? and did it have oriinal seiko box and accessories ?
I love mine,
super comfortable to wear & best dial ever!
I hated this dial I thought it was garbage. I found a sale for this watch (made in Japan) for 232.00 and decided to buy it since I had no fun colors on my collection. Now I'm completely in love with the watch.
Literally just ordered mine for £299 off Very. Awesome price for what looks like an awesome watch.
Saw the turtle save the ocean it is nice, never taken to the samurai but the blue does rock👍
I bought a couple of watches from them because of you. Thanks
It's Awesome !!! I'm glad I have mine. It's even better in the sun.
Absolutely wonderful.
It suddenly occurred to me, isn't this blue dial similar to the Rolex Deepsea D-Blue, with a fading blue horizontal gradient? I like the Seiko take on this style more, though.
This watch was my very first Seiko..and its a damn good watch for the price I got it for..SRPC93...
Gorgeous dial. I was deadset on the PADI but now I'm having second thoughts.

Well now I have to add yet another watch to my wish list! The dial is just ideal. Thanks for the review.
I now own one and love it.. Even though it's a 44m case size
Picked one up yesterday and I’m in love:)

I've literally just bought the ssc633p1 and now I'm going to order this, brilliant review.
You mean the ssc663p1
Bought this blue jewel last week from MIMO's... Should get it tomorrow
Killer blue dial! Looking forward to seeing the turtle version
Just bought this watch! Thanks for the informative video that really helped!!

nice flux capacitor in the background
I am seriously considering this one. ❤️
Picked one up today. Nice review!
Seiko prospex turtle Batman is friggin awesome!
I really like this. I am torn between the Turtle and this Samurai. I have several Turtles and no Samurai yet.
I will show the turtle later today, you are gonna love it.
Random Rob i just ordered the Samurai...might order the turtle when the wife isnt looking ;)
wow, this dial is stunning. Yep gonna order the Turtle too.
Lol both
Best sub £1000 watch out there. I've got this and the prospex chronograph. With leather straps. Blows all the overrated overpriced brands away.
love this watch! You almost made me spit out my coffee with the, "it's probably from the brats". lol stay safe !

mimos did not have this watch on site. are they still available ?
excellent review. Wish the bracelet tapered more, to 18mm as in my opinion, the bracelet looks too wide.
This dial is awesome! but works so much better on the Samurai than on the Turtle. So I was a bit disappointed because I'm Turtle guy... I'm curious what your thoughts are on that.
Will review the turtle later today. It’s amazing.
Yep. I'm another "Turtle" guy, but in this case I had to make an exception, so have got me my 1st "Samurai"!
Congrats! The Samurai is a great watch too so, enjoy! I already have two Turtles (srp777 & the PADI)and a also a Samurai (SRPC07) so I decided not to go for either. But man what great dial! Love it on the Samurai. 👌
Would you recommend this watch to me ? Rob !?!
I like it more so than my Ocean 39 to be honest
where is the SHARK fin ?
could be a grail watch for me...
Great review man thanks for sure getting this watch now 👍🏽👍🏽
Is it possibile to turn off the ''glowing'' on the dials?
hamburi nanntiii no?
hamburi nanntiii why would you do that?
Hamburi, are you a ninja?
Hello Rob,
Just received this watch from - it looks awesome. Can you tell me where I can get a nice blue silicone strap for this. Will the crafter blue straps that fit the other Prospex Seiko swatches work for this one? Thanks again.
Hamish
Are you still loving it now?
Random. Was the bracelet pins, or was it screws? I know you couldn't resize, but nice to know, because the bracelet on my SRP775 is so good.
For the price idk you get a stamped clasp not milled no superluminova and no sapphire just a hardlex crystal
@The Artist Formerly Known as Cumbias true I think the speed Master is trying to capture that retro vibe with the mineral crystal
I was following the News at Baselworld 2018. A pattern on the dial was inspired by a blue whale, not the waves.
Really? I just assumed “save the ocean” and ocean colors it was a wave thing. Huh
Random Rob timeandtidewatches.com/video-8-best-seikos-basel-2018/
Time Tide says so. I am gonna stay with ocean waves. Haha
Like it, don’t love it. Wish there was more gradation from light blue to deep blue and then black on the dial. Wish there was more contrast with the bezel insert. I like the gunmetal bezel and crown.

Mimo is USA authorized dealer, he sells USA part numbers and models
Will there be a save the ocean sumo coming out as well?
Not sure, but I would buy it. Seiko usually takes full advantage of success.
Do you think these will sell out and go up in price?
The model will slowly disappear I am sure. I doubt price will climb much.
@@RandomRobReviews Thanks Rob.
I love mine!
I have to get one!!!
Is there anyone else that wants to see a Green Samurai or am I crazy?
I would buy it in a heartbeat?
I'm considering buying one, is it accurate and strong like does it last long>?
How much u spend yearly on watches?

I wish they would make one that is a bit smaller dimensions. It's so nice but I can't imagine it suiting my small wrist (6-6.5"). Beautiful piece
I like it...
