thanks for the video, how did your motor run the first time out? Did you keep it under 50% throttle per the break in period? My 6hp tohatsu came with the gear in reverse, I had to put it in neutral to start to motor. Also, I pushed the choke in too early and the engine cut out (it blows smoke out of the cylinder on first start up). I recommend letting it run for a minute with choke engaged. Otherwise you will flood the engine (try restarting on 'restart', or on full throttle with no choke to allow air into the chamber). That tip was thanks to SkinnyRiver!

Thanks for the comment...By first start i let the engine working in neutral for ca. 10 min... I have followed instructions from manual about first time running the engine...
      For now...it runs smooth...

      Hello 👋
      Thank you for good review.
The motor that you’ve shown on video has short shaft?

@@andreykalashnik8370 yes...for this type of boat you need short shaft..😉

Hi, I have the a similar boat with the same engine. Why oh why is my boat and engine ventilating so bad. 15 inch transom and I have tried various trims.

Do you think 6 hp would be too much for my 2 meter inflatable that is has a engine recommondation of 2.5 hp?

    • @gotravelforfun
      @gotravelforfun  ปีที่แล้ว

Hm ..good question... 🤔 I think it would be...Maybe 5 HP is or even lower 4 HP is more suitable for your boat ...but that is always personal feeling...this 6 HP what I have is perfect for my 380 cm Long boat when I am alone onboard...when few person's are also with me you notice a difference....

It seems you have some cavitation from the outboard?

Hi. Good video. Do you think the Tohatsu 6hp is just as good as the Yamaha 6hp. Thanks Steve 👍

Thnx for your comment...well honestly I don't know...my friend has 5 HP Yamaha and by quality of material they are pretty much the same...on TOHATSU you can see a few places on the motor where you notice a detail which could be of better quality...but on the end ...price difference between TOHATSU and YAMAHA played a role for me to decide my self for TOHATSU. I think it's a nice little motor and for that price it makes a job you know...😉

Thanks. I have a Tohatsu 20hp 4-stroke and yamaha 9.9hp 4-stroke. Both heavy outboards. Might sell the yamaha to get the smaller 6hp Tohatsu so I can manage to carry it myself. Thanks and I subbed you. 👍

Excellent presentation ,good to you .
I bought recently a Honwave T38 ,it has length 370 cm and weight 38 kilos.
I'm intend to buy the TOHATSU 6hp ,do you think that will be limited proper for two adults ?
I'll appreciate to have your opinion.
    Greetings from Greece.

Thanks for your comment...well ..I bought 6 HP motor because of the license also...on the lake where I use this boat is motor up to 6 HP free of license to have it....
My boat is 3,80 m...and I think 9 HP would be optimal...when I use my boat alone then it's great, when you have additionally one more person you notice the difference already that is why I think 9 HP is a better option to buy ...if you are not limited with license and regulations...😉

The limit in Greece for inflatable boats is 15 hp ,no license is need .
The problem is mine,l have back problems that's why I'm looking something to be not heavy in order to transport it easily.
Anyway l thank you for the reply.
