I lived up there years ago on Wildrose it was Goodwins then but is the street the post office is now. I loved it up there. I worked at Laloma by the lake & have missed all these years later*
I was a Crestline regular back in the '60s. The round tin-roofed building use to be a movie house. Across the street from that building was Lake Drive Motel which is now Alpine Mall. We stayed at that little motel, It had a dozen or so little cabins behind it. There was a pool behind the building on the left. The penny arcade was next door. It looks like it is a nursery now. Looks like A Burgers is still there. I was there when the owner was a real nice man. The bowling alley has been there for a very long time. We ate a lot of french fries at the diner there. I would love to go back in time. It was crazy fun and popular with young people and hippies.
Glad you enjoyed the video. The town remains pretty small but somethings definitely change over time. I remember when the movie theater used to still operate, unfortunately right now it is empty.
thank you for that research and response; i am enjoying my stay here very much, even when i have to shovel snow, or it is foggy driving down the mountain, it is still beautiful !
Lived here for 7 years. 50% of residents are business owners. People are warm and friendly. I loved the mountain living. I moved because it became crowded with full time residents...and started having traffic!! Love the country here in N.C. and have fond memories of Crestline,CA
Hey there, found your video when I did a random search on "Skyland" and "Crestline." Sure miss the mountain and the Ward, I really need to get up there on a sunday when the weather is good, after all, I am only 30 min away in RC.
Thanks for the comment, you learn something new everyday/ I pretty much figured it was part of the original San Moritz marketing, but I didn't realize that there was a pattern to it. I am from top town where the street names don't have an apparent pattern (although there is a section named after planets).
@threeicys You should come back. Trust me after all the foreclosures it isn't so crowded anymore:S. In all seriousiness I have to say NC is a very nice state too. I visited Wilmington and it surprised me how green it was.
@Tbone6610 Ghetto? You should see my last place, I used to live on 8th and Arrowhead in San Bernardino. That's a ghetto. I wouldn't say Crestline is the richest of the mountain communities, but I love it, everyone is friendly and for the most part it is quiet (a few barking dogs aside :))

Hi Still live in Crestline?
Great tour! I used to walk from Top Town to work every day. In the winter, going down Rocky Dell it's less of a walk and more of a slide. haha

You're welcomed... Your video is on point with the landmarks on Lake Drive... a real help for those who are not familiar with the city.

Crestline and Lake Gregory - love it here! 💛🧡💙
Glad you enjoyed the video. I no longer live in Crestline but it was a great town when we did live there. I still go up for the 4th of July Parade.

All of the street names in the Lake Gregory area are of swiss origin, thus the sign Switzerland sits on Lake Drive...
I will have to include it another time, assuming it doesn't get sold off and changed (I heard it was for sale).

@davemeneley we miss you too. I hope all is well in Rancho Cucamonga.
@AleeshaWeesha We walk down Rocky Dell almost everyday. You definately have to be careful.

Recuerdo que una vez desayunamos por ahi
Yo me recuerdo que nos veniste a visitarnos y llego uno de los tormentas de nieve mas fuerte que vimos y habia un pie de altura de nieve.
