I think one of my favorite aspects with the song is how they use Mame both as a comedic punchline and emotional punch. Serving as a joke on how Mame can stand with Date and Majima, while serving as a stand in for the entirety of Morning Glory. What he regrets abandoning more than anything.

What's hitting him harder is probably how old Mame is, if he's even still alive being at least 15 years old (Yakuza 3 takes place in 2007), and Kiryu wasn't around for the majority of the dog's life at Morning Glory.

Thanks man for displaying the lyrics. This song really hits me and made me tear up. Reminds me of my ex-girlfriend. we broke up due to religious reasons. I was actually playing the fool for being an indecisive person and kept hurting her feelings by pushing away. Only to realise that it was all my fault. Right now she found a good man to Marry and I'm happy for her but I still love her deeply. Apologies, again thank you for your hard work.

I do wish it could have been a little more serious at the end and had Haruka sitting on the beach with Mame, even if it was just her back to the camera

while baka darou tells the story of kiryu realizing that the relationships he's formed has only brought pain to the people who considers close, to the point he calls them stupid for allowing themselves to become friends with him in the first place

Did you not read the lyrics? The fool in the song is himself, the song is about how he somehow always pushed the people close to him away and now he has missed the chance to tell them how much they meant to him.

You know, i know this is extremely pathetic but this song reminds me of my last ex girlfriend. Probably the girl that i loved the most in my entire life and i threw it all in the trash. I "cheated" on her when i was depressed because of personal and family problems, i decided to text another girl in an attempt to minimize my loneliness and sadness, this girl ended up felling in love with me, with guilt in my heart i told my gf all the situation and she broke up with me, saying that it didn't make any sense for our relationship to continue. And since i didn't felt the same for the other girl, i rejected her. I lost the love of my life hurting two people in the process. Aren't i a fool.
