I wish the magicshine garmin mounts were a bit thicker. I have the evo 1300 and the mount is considerable thinner compared to the OEM garmin mount that came with my edge 1050. The reason why I'll use the magicshine mount is because it already has included a swivel garmin garmin mount which is way sleeker than buying aftermarket adapters.
Yes, I don't really understand why Magicshine went through the trouble of making two separate Allty light models just for the mount. Other companies like KNOG / iGPSPORT have flip-able mounts that make it easy to switch the mounts.
If you want to mount the light under an out-front mount having a Garmin mount isn't that helpful, I think you'll want a GoPro adapter (as pictured here in this review) so you can adjust the angle. As you can see in the comparison, there are a lot of options that are specifically designed to be mounted under a computer from Magicshine EVO 1300/1700, LightSKIN (U8 / NACA), KNOG Blinder (flippable mount is very nice) and even the Fenix lights have GoPro adapters (if you don't mind flipping it). The nice thing about top-mount specific lights is that the power button will be on top so you can interact with it easier.
Don't forget to use "TheSweetCyclists" for a 15% discount off the Allty 1200U or any other product on magicshine.com
this channel is underrated

they should tap screw holes on both sides and make the lens rotatable. instead of making two versions.

This! Even Chinese brand such as rockbross offering dual mount with simple slider/rails
I'm looking for an under stem light with garmin mount. Do you like the Lightskin light? Know of any other brands?
