I've still got my bauer respects in the wardrobe. The colour nearly put me off buying them but i didn't have any other options for aggressive at the time. They got me back into skating last year and i out some anti rockers on them. Never knew they had different hardness wheels. I rotated them so much 🤣 i'll have to check what wheels they have on them now. They've been retired now, just waiting for a good spot to display them
@@rotyler2177 i skated mine for a bit after coming back into the sport. I wanted to make sure I was going to stick with it before dropping money on new ones. The plastic held up surprisingly well but now I am too nervous to skate them again. I get tempted at times but I want to keep them for sentimental value. Sorry to hear you don't have yours anymore.
I remmember back then that Bauer was so popular around my town for some reason (probably because there was this one guy that imported them and no other shops sold any other brand skates) that it basically was a benchmark skates, sure there was talk about Argon 1.1 being very good but they looked kinda plain, heavy and hard. This new Bauer line came out while I was still on the first set of wheels on my Shifty so there was no point in buying them, but I really liked Civility for their "sandstorm" colors, perfect for my "sandstorm" combat trousers lol. These, just like Frontside before it, as flagships had a separate retainer/strap on a wire that goes around back and zips on the front above the laces, you seem to be missing them. Around the same time there were street hockey ones with metal Tuuk rail, HX or something, those things were so fast and silent!
@Back to Blading love the philosophy on the Balance Distribution boot. I vote yes on shims for skinny feet. I’m testing out the Powerfoot Performance Insert to close up the top of my toe box in my SLs.
When Nike brought Bauer they produced as "Nike Bauer" skates and equipment around 1995 and in 2008 Roustan Inc bought out Nike's Bauer assets and moved manufacturing back to Canada and rebranded back to Bauer they went on to buy other companies like Mission and Easton Hockey. parent company name has changed and changed hands a few times since but they're still the Top brand for Hockey skates and equipment along with CCM

I am 38 years old and man i miss my pair i had the exact same green pair of bauers....brings back good memories of my time in the 90s and 2000s i am thinking of skating again.
I came very close back in 6th grade in California by buying a pair of bauers and i graduated in 2006 you can do the math but in stead i got a pair of RB sways they where awesome then i found razor and never went to any other skates i came close to usd or remz and tryed them out but razors fit just perfect in building my style and skill
It would be good if companies put out a foot size chart that you could print out and put your foot on to see how they will acually fit your foot. I have duck feet and currently skating aeons that I had to go a size up to fit. With the skinnyboy liners they fit perfectly except my toes don't touch the end and feel loose in the toes. It kind of has a lightness there that makes it feel less controllable when jumping or skating ramps. I'd love a skate that fits my foot perfectly.
Super refreshing to hear someone talk about their Chinese supplier as though they are, you know, human beings. lol Human beings who make our wheelie boot hobby possible. I guess you have a similar relationship with your urethane lab (which I always assumed was Gyro in Korea)?

i dont have mine anymore. i miss them so much. i wouldnt skate them they would most likely break shatter lol

That Bauer shifty sole plate was well ahead of its time, reminds me a bit of the Salomon wide boy
The initial bauer shifty aggressive skates had the hardest frames on the market at the time. Ice quick! And more flex than the k2 fatties.
