- What if you could turn your level of attractiveness on and off again like a light switch to become either super attractive or super repulsive at a moment's notice?
Because that's exactly what happened when I hypnotized these high school students to think I had that very ability at a recent grad night hypnosis show I performed for Somersworth High School in New Hampshire this past weekend.
It's really interesting to experiment with the idea of how attractiveness is really just a mindset we have about somebody or something and to realize that we have the ability to change it in an instant!

@@omarkhamis523 it's not. It is limited though. People won't do anything that crosses their values. A little more on hypnosis:
Hypnosis has been an official medical modality since the 1950's and since then there's been literally thousands of papers supporting the efficacy and benefits of hypnosis (it has even been used to do surgeries without anesthesia). (And... if you were to read in these papers about what is possible with it, you'd think it's absolutely crazy that it's real therapeutic use is still in the dark). But before that, it's been around for thousands of years starting in the Egyptian sleep temples, all the way to mesmer (think of the word "mesmerize") with animal magnetism. But aside from aaallllllll that, trance is something that we experience every day.
When you're driving your car and you forget most of the trip --trance. When fall into a deep daydream where you can visualize --trance. When you go into the REM state --trance. Hypnosis is when somebody guides (voluntarily) you in to a waking REM state. Within this state, according to Stanford Hypnosis Lab, the "default mode network" (the monkey mind/habit mind) quiets down and the mind falls into a state of increased neuroplasticity (increased potential for learning quickly) and increased suggestibility. If you don't like the suggestions, you simply pop back to "waking state." Although, you're not really asleep, you're just in a state of trance (a relaxed state of increased focus).

There are videos about how to get hypnotized. I tried it, and it worked, but it was about paralysis, and that’s a big fear of mine. It is a very unique experience, and I would recommend(just make sure it isn’t about something you’re scared of). If you lucid dream it may be easier to “break the 4th wall.”

Its good to be sceptical but I went on holiday some years ago and one of my mates who is very quiet and shy guy was hypnotised, got up on the table, knocked drinks everywhere, flapping his arms and shouting cockadoodledoo , then proceeded to try and peck the food off the floor with his head going like a jackhammer. Some people are more prone to the power of suggestion than others; which is why before every show he does a “hypnosis” on the entire crowd and hand picks those that are the most deceptable to his own instructions.

With hypnosis, it only works if you really believe it will work. If you keep thinking to yourself “oh it’s a lie” then you’ll not be affected strongpy
@@bangtrash2053 it's real, hypnosis is all about free will, you have to want it to work. It also relies on the type of person you are, anyone can be hypnotized, but some better than others. You can tell when ppl aren't hypnotized in these shows, which is why usually one or two are pulled off the stage bc of it. The brain is powerful, the way it's done makes everything the speaker says true to the brain, which is why ppl would believe he's sexy or ugly. Ppl go to school for years for these things, they have a final test at the end where they have to make a certain amount of ppl go into a trance in a second, there's a certain method for this to occur, and takes a lot do practice. Do your research and learn about the science behind it all. Believe it or not, you can do self hypnosis, and in which ive done it, and it's worked, it's good for building self confidence and relaxation. I used it to get out of a bad habit, and it's honestly p crazy how it works, but it takes a desire of want to achieve hypnosis, whether you're do it to yourself or other ppl. "So I can make ppl steal money or give me their personal information" actually no, our brains have a barrier to block stuff like that out, like a security alarm, but overall, these things are real, and I highly encourage taking the chance to participate in one of these.

I remember in the 90's a hypnotist came to our school. He made this group believe they were living in the future. One of the subjects said that everything is paid for with plastic. We thought it was so funny and weird.
Hypnosis is real to some extent because I have watched family members be hypnotized on stage

In my early 20s, I took part in a group that was supposedly hypnotized. I was an extrovert at that time and pretended I was hypnotized, but I was acting and knew what I was doing 100% of the time. The "hypnotist" even seemed to know I was acting and whispered instructions to me when the audience wasn't looking at me.

I saw my cousin "hypnotized" my other cousin at a family event once. She was "suggested" that her name was X when her actual name was Y. When she woke up she was asked what her name was, she answered X. All of us told her her name was actually Y. It went on for a couple of minutes that she went extremely angry borderline hysterical. The look of bewilderment and anger was one of the best acting I've ever seen, if it was an act at all.
My cousin was into magic, card tricks and whatnot. Hypnosis was something he learned as well.
