By wishing you a Happy New Year, we would like to show you a "Best of Ballet 2021", where we highlight the best of each Ballerina that "danced" in this channel. So, what you are watching here are not necessarily performances of 2021. Here follows the list of our full "Best of" of the Ballerinas you see in this video :) Enjoy and don't forget to support them and their companies!
That's actually what I like about having all these videos together like this. Of all the dancers featured Somova has always been my least favorite - legs for eons but she lacked control and strength, and seemed to be of the "extension for extensions-sake" camp. But seeing those videos together made me realize I primarily only saw videos early in her career (the first 2 videos, Don Q and Tchai Pas, are the ones I'm not really fans of). But she is stunning in that Swan Lake vid, and seems so much stronger there and in the Grand Pas Classique variation. So cool to see a dancer with so much talent improve in their career.
It was while I was searching for a particular music - - of Léo Delibes's one day - - and it's how I happened to see Nina Kaptsova dancing - - the Coppélia - - so beautifully ❗️ I haven't stopped watching ballets - - ever since. I'd like to say also that - - I admire all of these very impressive and great Principal Dancers - - that @ DLB has shown❗️ Thank you for sharing.
@@Marta44339 For the life of me, I can't figure out why they cut her. She's proportioned like a more normal person than Krysanova and Zakharova? But she's fast and precise and her technique and dramatic presentation are brilliant!
@@minissa2009 Bolshoi put Kaptsova, Alexandrova, and maybe a couple other dancers onto "working under contract" which means they don't have a salary anymore and only get paid for each performance, also don't get to perform as often as a principal dancer would. I think it's because Kaptsova and Alexandrova are over 40 years old and there are many new, younger dancers who are talented. It's very sad but that's how ballet is. Kaptsova is still one of my favorite dancers ever.
@@margarita9035 I remember Maria Allah also. Honestly mid-30s through mid-40s can be an excellent time for a ballerina given no injuries. They develop style and depth and often a womanliness or sense of femininity often missing in younger dancers. I think this move was short-sighted. OTOH, Bolshoi is huge and I can see why dancers get to dance twice a month rather than twice a week as is more typical in the West. Given the number of principals and first soloists as well as up-and-comers, if management wants to give everyone a chance at a principal role every month, that's a lotta people!
@@minissa2009 Totally! And Kaptsova seemed to still be in great shape. I know many were angry with the directors of the company when this decision was made.
Happy New Year to all!! Many thanks for all your videos as this one was especially captivating. Each dancer portrays great beauty and technique as well as continuous dedication to ballet. 🌹🌹💖💖
Pra mim são os segundos melhores do mundo, porém admito que tenha polêmicas, divergências e impasses sobre o assunto. De fato há espaço para brechas sobre o assunto..... São maravilhosos, esplêndidos.
happy new year 2022 ! I strongly hope that all the artists, specially the dancers, will continue to perform live on stage despite of Covid !!! we don't want to see the shut down of the theaters, it is too sad. Also, the career of a dancer is very short and even one year of shut down means a lot ! I have a ticket to see "Body and Soul" at the Opera de Paris and another one to see "Swan Lake" from Anjelin Preljocaj and I need to see those precious shows ! 💃👯

Wow, they are all so perfect and high technique ballerinas, thanks Danceline Ballet
My heart belongs to Nunez and Salenko, but the Kaptsova footage was incredible!
I really enjoyed Kaptsova who is relatively new to me, and I always like Krysanova.

does anyone know whats the name of the variation or the ballet it's in at 13:25?
It's Aurora variation from Sleeping Beauty Act 1 😊
It is not always the dancer’s fault when the music is not synchronised
