Those cheaper Sevylor kayaks aren't very good. I bought the Tahaa, which seem very similar to the Riviera and like that, it's a pig to try to get it to go in a straight line. As soon as you stop paddling, it pirouettes. I've since bought a Sevylor Madison.
@@maljohn6584 "Better off Buying the real thing." - No I'm not. They won't fit in my car, they're a pain to store when at home and they're much heavier to lift in and out of rivers when going round weirs, locks & mills. The Madison is excellent.
That looked brilliant. I have just bought one and going to give it a test run later today. Hopefully I don't do a face first plant into the water like that poor lady 😬😂✌🏻
The license depends on who owns the waterway that you're interesting in using. The cheapest way to get an annual pass is via British Canoeing whose annual On the Water membership covers almost every river and canal in the UK. www.britishcanoeing.org.uk/membership/on-the-water-membership
@@CampervanTalesAnd I would never swap my Canary inflatable after fooling around with loading the Kayaks on top of the van for just 1 year that was enough for me. This kayak is in a bag inside the van, I take it out get the pump hooked up to the van and inflate/ deflate the Inflatable within 2 minutes I am on the water. Takes about 5 minutes to deflate and pack up. Inflatable is also safer since it molds to your body shape no more tipped over accidents and with the skeg it goes in rough waves with no problems. I sold the hard kayaks for those reasons.
@@danfuerthgillis4483 we don't find it a problem. Five minutes to get on and off the roof and in the water. No faffing around with inflating and deflating, or having to dry it out. Each to their own. What works for some doesn't for others.

hilarious, did make me laugh.. looked like the most unstable kayaks ever!
It did make us laugh too when it happened. Just glad we caught it on camera😁
It all has a lot to do with motor skills and pressurizing the canoe.😂
@@On-Target-mh8rx amd very funny when it goes wrong

We have a proper Canadian canoe so obviously don't have any issues. It was funny seeing her fall in though. We told her it was going to happen.
Better off Buying the real thing. A HARD SHELL CANADIAN CANOE , NOT THESE RUBBER BALLOONS ON THE RIVER .

The Madison is excellent.
What type of house boat was that passing by?
It's a narrow boat. Lots of people travel the canals on them and use them as live aboards.

I think she learnt a valuable lesson😉
Planning on doing this with a few friends, did you have to do anything legal for this? Like a licence or anything? Thanks!
Yep, you need to get a licence from CRT. You can get a short term licence through their website.
Enjoy and have fun.

License for what? Canoeing?? First I've heard of it.
Yes you need a licence from Canal and Rivers Trust
@@CampervanTales In the UK?
