Every few months or so there are special events called "anomalies". These are massive gatherings (in the thousands of players) with slightly different game play. Whichever faction wins the anomaly changes the progress of the Ingress story for their team (In this case, Enlightened won, further damaging ADA). Aegis Nova was the last anomaly. There have been 9 so far, starting from Recursion.

On the Enlightened we have Roland Jarvis (who is sort of dead-ish, after losing a previous anomaly to the Resistance). You should read up on the lore of the game if you're interested in following the story. There are plenty of websites with that information. As for Aegis Nova, it's over. Tokyo was the last city. There will be another anomaly with a different name in a couple of months. Check out www.ingress.com/events/

I want there to be more team balance next time. Abaddon had it right. There was *nothing* in it, and it made for a much more exciting event.
That's not totally Niantic's fault but the community's also, if one faction doesn't play as the other do, is totally player's fault... Abaddon was one of the worsts anomalies in terms of organization, I'm not saying that AN did it way better since they didn't even have a southamerican city but at least the problems within factions wasn't terrible, I remember going to Abaddon in New Orleans and it was awful one of the worst experiences as an Ingress player...
Sadly, I wasn't present in Shonin so I can't give you an answer for that, but come on man, 7 anomalies in a row for the Resistance isn't a little number, is like the 75% of them :/ I understand these are different times, globally the entire community is very VERY small globally because of Pokemon nowadays. " Res are outnumbered globally. " Really? I've seen fair nuber of new Res. players the last few months (4-5 months) and most of the time the score belongs to the resistance... D:
what were you suggesting by "enl always takes Japan" if not skipping it as an anomaly site? it is as logical to say we should skip Europe. also it makes a change from the bias niantic have shown in the past to the resistance. if anything people will always suspect niantic of bias, but in reality they do have to make decisions, and people will always think these decisions could have been predicted to benefit one side or the other, but they still have to make them. I.e. you have to have the anomaly somewhere.
That captures Mind Units, or MU, which go towards your teams total MU score. The bigger the field, the more MU, and links and other fields can't be made in or across already existing fields.
Why don't you launch this game in BB10 also..? What stops you from doing this...? Please there are a lot of people using BB10 loves ingress... So please, please do launch the game in BB10 and please reply for this... Thank You
