  • Skull, check. Spoon, check. Forged from stainless steel and thoroughly cleaned and polished, this table spoon can be machine washed and used like any factory made spoon.

I'm metal artisan Jaakko Rajala and I forge and fabricate delicate and artistic objects from steel and stainless steel. The products I show on these videos are of my own design. I wish to inspire other makers and crafters - but most importantly to entertain any viewer who happens to stumble on my videos. I hope you enjoy your time here!

Having a vise on a stand to hold your work on the anvil - absolute stroke of genius! Definitely going to adapt that to my workshop.

What's a matter with you Jakkoo! You some kind of freak! No smith can be so freakishly talented!

My mom also called me a freak and locked me in the basement. Luckily it happened to be an old blacksmith shop so I've been there ever since!

Jaakko is "okkaaj" spelled backwards that is an ancient Finnish word meaning "the one who finds the inner golden ratio in solitude".

I love your style. I think its cool that every blacksmith has their own way of doing things, aside from the fundamental techniques. Excellent work as always, Jaakko.

      Thank you!
I've been busy with other work so I haven't had time to shoot anything. I'm also a bit uncertain about my next forging projects because I'm not too interested in making videos about some basic stuff.
It might still take a while before I publish something new but I'm trying to keep this channel alive.
