I'm still mourning the loss of my beloved cat, Alley to either IBD or Lymphoma. This episode will hopefully help with my healing as I felt responsible for not being aware of IBD in cats. We were initially treating pancreatitis but the IBD was not specifically discussed in the early diagnosis. We started with X-rays and blood tests, and I opted to wait on the ultra-sound. After two months of treating the pancreatitis she continued to lose weight and additional symptoms began appearing. At this point, we began treating the IBD while we waited for ultra-sound appointment. After an ultra-sound showed significant thickening of the small intestines, and enlarged lymph cells, we began treating the Lymphoma along with the IBD, as is common practice. After another two months, her body was not responding to any of the treatments, and her weight loss was accelerating at an alarming rate. My vet recommended that it was time to say good bye. I'm still trying to find peace with my decision. My heart is so broken. All I can do at this point is to learn from this experience, and apply this knowledge to the care of her sister, Sassy. Thank you for letting me know that I'm not alone in this journey of becoming a better cat parent.
I am so sorry to hear this and so very sorry for your loss. Sadly, it is very common and is becoming even more common in our precious cats. Thank you for sharing your story. I believe that our pets come to us as teachers and we honor them by learning and doing better as we can.

IBD is inflammatory bowel disease, much different from irritable bowel syndrome which is a functional problem

Commercial food additives are not good like carrageenan or grain
My cat needs this restore kit but it's waaaay too expensive when you have to keep buying this their entire life. What can I do if I can't afford this option? For now she's on that steroid you mentioned and fortiflora SA,
Doctors have been giving her the antibiotic that you mentioned since December from The day her symptoms started. It has been 3 months and she finally got an ultrasound and all of those tests with biopsies and now they're doing a lymphoma test with the samples because the diarrhea keeps coming back and I'm not giving her any more of the antibiotic because that's obviously not helping once it finishes after a week
I wish people cared enough to have cheaper options for pet parents instead of charging an arm and a leg for everything just because they know we love them and that they have to have it for their health 🤔🤔🤔
I also can't change her diet she's on a CD prescription diet for struveitis
I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty. It's a very difficult road to travel, I know, I've been there with 2 of my cats.
I know the 2CCL personally and they do not make much money on their products. Cost of quality ingredients is not cheap and they always do the best they can to keep prices as low as possible.
That said, they do run slaes sometimes and it's worth signing up for their VIP and/or their texting program to get notified of sales.
Also, you may want to look into a different diet. Prescription diets are not medicine and you pay an absurd amount for something that is not really helping the situation. Specifically for UT issues, you'd do MUCH better to switch to a moisture rich diet and spend the savings on the supplements you need. Of course, that's just my opinion. Every animal is an individual and specific needs for each individual need to be met.

@@JetJ321 ya a year later and none of their supplements worked at all in the end, unfortunately it was a waste of money big time... Finally almost done with chemo and just a change in diet to fresh food with a company called "smalls" and she's all better. All the canned foods at the stores and the prescription foods all have cancer causing ingredients, And people who try to sell us on these kinds of useless supplements are just as b.s. as the canned food companies in my opinion and from my experience
My 17yo cat is down to 6lbs. Has kidney disease but no thyroid problems or diabetes. Hes eating normally 3 3.5oz wet food cans daily. Doesnt have diarrhea but vomited once a week ago but no other vomiting prior or after. They say he has elevated white blood cells. What should i do? Im thinking he has ibd. Its the only thing that explains the weightloss
Totally going through this with one cat. He’s doing better but still has some bouts of vomiting. It seems always to be in the army hours of the morning, but is always fine throughout the day.
I'm so sorry to hear this. I wish you and your cat all the best. I hope the 2CCL products can help. They've been a blessing to my cats for sure. It may also be of interest for you to look into TCVM and the timing of their vomiting as it relates to organ systems in the body. Very interesting stuff!
I get up once or twice a night to feed my cat a small meal and she has stopped vomiting in the morning. If she goes over 5 hours without eating, she gets nauseous and vomits from stomach acid, then she won’t eat. (This is from upper small intestine IBD, whereas diarrhea is from lower small intestine IBD.)
Hi! Questions……, how old do you think a cat can live with IBD, after the diarrhea started? My cat is 18 now. And can it really cause intestinal lymphoma? Since this is a long video it’s hard to pick up on everything. My cat first started having diarrhea problems at 14 after years of Friskies diet. He’s been treated with steroids, B-12 injections and changed diet……. Just discovered Carrageenan thing (even the prescribed foods has it) he lost a lot of weight recently but we can’t test for cancer cuz it’s too invasive. His bloodwork labs didn’t show any organ failure which surprised the doctor. That’s all I’ll write for now, since it seems like no one ever replies to their TH-cam videos.

It's hard to say how long the cat can live because everyone is an individual and there are many factors to consider.
I completely understand that you wouldn't want to continue testing. In my case, I chose not to as well. It just didn't make sense when the treatment is the same either way.

Is this about IBD or IBS, or are they similar enough, that the treatments work either way, I'm guessing.
Thank you I think we can try this for a cat my family has, and the poor thing is on just kibble, and it because she has accidents. So if this can help her she can also start better food too

Not irritable. You’re perhaps thinking of irritable bowel syndrome. IBD is inflammatory bowel disease.
