Trying it out now, seems way more convenient then using the Iray renderer. No need to mess around with tessellation values 🙂
Only issue I've noticed is that switching to one of the presets and back to "Sphere - Default Position" doesn't reset all the values changed, so you can end up with an out of focus sphere with stretched or overly tiled textures pretty easily. Clicking Reset All Values fixes it but you obviously loose any other changes you've made like background color or render samples etc.

Yes, sorry this might not have been clear: you have to manage a bit which changes are included in the preset. Normally it onyl includes changes but with the checkmark dropdown you can force it to include all params into the preset.

Loved this node. I had a simple “create matcap” node using the pixel processor that would just basically get an environment map and map it to a sphere. Then blurring/rotating at will. This takes it to the 100th level… is this all done with built-in substance graphs/processors?
Nevertheless, amazing. Glad to have bumped into this tutorial.

Nice presentation! one question, is there a way to add custom lights or it can just use HDR light?

Yes you can actually edit HDR's inside Designer. It's not super easy or obvious but does what you want. We'll have a better solution for this soon!

Are there any plans to use custom meshes / Substance model graphs (or bundle in the nice default rounded cube and cylinder) with the PBR render node?

Anybody knows if a exposed parameter can be animated? and make a turnarround with the animated parameter?

Hey, yes you can do that. It requires Substance Player for now (this one can render frames), and some custom functions (using $time). Not easy or straighforward, but it's possible and has been done.
