Kristin, I LOVE that idea! I am working on getting some items for a DIY vid, but I don't know if I'll have them in time to test and get it all done well before recording the how-to. And I LOOOOOVE the big cauldron idea. I have smaller ones with plants but not a bigger one. I do want some of the PB Teen pots but those are gold. I'm so excited for those walls! They have an amazing mock up of it at the Studio Tour. It looks so comfy. You could have a representation of each common room moving up the house. I would love a big painting showing under the lake and the giant squid 🤩

I was like “get out of here, she’s going to sleep on a bookshelf”, but seriously, a futon might not be too practical/comfortable? I do think a Murphy bed would be perfect though. They even have some with built in shelves. So excited for all the planning and changes happening ❤

The Murphy beds with build in shelving are the kind we'd consider. I'm so excited too!!!! I love the word cozify! I'll start using that. Ooooooo I LOVE the idea of a barrel. Now you got me thinking about one in the kitchen where I convert it to butterbeer. I love that, Sarah! After I recorded I was like, maybe there is more I want to do in the kitchen. I want the kitchen to feel both Weasley-esk but a bit like the kitchen in Hogwarts (so I might need some elves, hehe) 😜
In my opinion, Lego looks best when placed between more subtle decorations. Some sets are more difficult than others. The big Hedwig, for example, is a great display piece, but the play sets like the Black Lake one aren´t. I like to frame those in some way. You can take a wooden box and place it on its side so that the opening faces you and the bottom acts like the background. That makes a nice display for smaller Lego sets and makes them look more classy. Same goes for glass domes. Glass, metal, stone and wood help to make Lego look more "adult" and in-world. Small domes with a wooden base are great for displaying minifigs. Have you thought of getting the HP Lego art set and hanging it somewhere? I think it is discontinued, so you would have to get it third party. For the first floor landing, where the cat tree currently is, I imagine either a narrow standing shelf to display items (like the ones in front of yor living room window, but narrow) or a glass display case. If that´s safe with the cats, that is. I also think that some low shelves or benches in front of the windows would look nice and would give you more space for display or plants. What fits great into HP is chests, too.

So I kind of want to keep it playful while still fitting into the room. Some thinking to do, indeed. 🤔 If you mean the wall art, I don't really like that lego one. If you're going for a common room vibe in the bedroom I would do one of those small canopies above the bed, a desk in the corner like you were talking about and a trunk at the end of the bed... maybe a large floor mirror or some other shelves for trinkets. If you are getting a futon to fold into a couch during the day I'm just going to warn you that you are going to get sick of folding it up and down everyday and having to redo the bedding all the time. I think whatever you do it's going to be fabulous! I can't wait to see how it turns out 😊
I was thinking of a canopy too, or just the framing, like in Hogwarts Legacy (and the movies) with curtains. My only thing is I want the space convertible and I don't want to make it feel small, but it could offer compartmentalizing too. Something to ponder for sure. I should say, when it comes to the futon, we lived in an RV full-time and had to open and close things on the regular to just live. haha BUT I had meant to say day bed ... unless I do a futon, but I'm leaning more daybed.

Excited to see more mermaid stuff in your bathroom (I've always had a fascination with mermaids, it's part of why I love the 4th book so much). I bet you could find a mermaid shower curtain :) You have so many great ideas (common/guest room, portraits on the stairs), I'm excited to see it all come together! I personally love the cottagecore aesthetic, and my living room currently has a "winter, princess living in a cottage in the forest" vibe, but a lot of HP things can fit into that vibe (especially herbology and potions). You've inspired me to decorate more of my house ✨
