This makes me hopeful for the future of this game they are actually listening to the criticism of their player base. I'm still probably going to wait until they add more content to the game such as different weapons for characters more traps more maps and there are still a few minor changes I'd like to see like being able to remove damaged numbers and health bars as it just unnecessarily clutters the screen which already has a lot going on.
You can already remove damage numbers in the settings! I can't currently confirm if this affects health bars but this was added last patch. I believe we'll be getting Gabriella, a new NPC, enemy and map very very soon, so unsure if this will be the March update or not. Keep posted as it looks like a lot is to come in the near future!
@robinvouz that's great to know! I have not been following the updates to closely but I'm glad they are listening and not just digging their heels in and making it how they want.
I was suggesting the ability to buy additional barricades as a fix when talking about it with friends.. Glad to see it become a reality without needing to make a forum thread or social media post.. Also Rift barricades sounds better than what I was thinking too! I didn't even think about upgradable barricades being a potential option.. (2:09) However, paying 5,000 RC to skip a thread and get a barricade is kinda steep since you are already paying the opportunity cost of an upgrade from not choosing any of them..
Yeah it's really nice to see more options and the added damage bonus (+50% when fully upgraded) is completely unexpected! I agree the Thread Skip might appear expensive, but I think when you view it less as skipping a potential upgrade, and instead as a guaranteed +1 barricade thread, the cost becomes more fair. For context, the +1 Barricade thread can only be taken three times, so to have the option to practically buy that specific thread as much as you want balances out the high price point in my opinion! If you were to buy multiple rerolls specifically for barricades too, that cost would be much higher than just skipping for +1, so I think the option is nice
The new barricade was awesome, it just feels right, they really made it become amazing there One thing i noticed is that trap cost reduction threads do not affect the barricades, personally i think they should but i won't complain. I think we should be able to reroll the very first map choice while in the lobby, after all, if all 3 are not good people will just reset the lobby either way.
Yeah currently only 3 of 7 characters can get then which is annoying, hope they address this at some point. Still better than the old chest system tho imo
@@robinvouz well, before the update I didn't look for them much, because when I did I usually found none. After over 50 hours playtime I just had 4 chests. After the update I needed 7 maps for the 6 missing one for the achievement, much nicer now.. now I only lack the mission5 ond hardest difficulty achievement *traumatized by purple dots on the minimap*
The 1.0.9 patch really made every character viable in solo play. in 1.0.8 sophie was absolutely terrible in solo play (at least from my experience) The nerf to enemy scaling and the overall buff to threads makes sophie and other mediocre characters actually useful in solo play.
She wasn't useless, you just don't know how to play it correctly, I win the last boss in difficult 10 solo with her. I bet you put her traps in random spots instead of using it instantly when you see a enemy with more than 35k hp, also the traps can be used to heal yourself when needed, to kill the lizard with coins etc.. you just need to be fast and put the trap in front of them.
I found Sophie wasn't too bad to play solo personally, however I've only played her on D0 so far. The thread changes will definitely make her more consistent in general though with crit threads easier to pick up than before!
@@elviaochoaramirez8723 I used her traps on strong enemies. she still felt very weak in my eyes for solo play. i never thought she was completely useless she just was very underwhelming for solo play. she definitely shines in co-op tho.
sophie feels great after unlocking the stuff for her especially with the crit chance bonus from the tree she just felt a little clunky pre update but i felt the same way for harlow and vaan but that just might be a play style diff on my part^^
I found the base game ok. Me and 2 friends did everything fine. Killed 4 bosses, finish mission 10, finish mission 5 on 2x difficulty. Got the 99,999 outfits. Reached lvl 106 finishing the skill tree. Have some traps to upgrade that we don't use and some rift cards to buy.
@robinvouz Yeah was fun. There is a bug when you buy the purple skins for 99,999. It takes all your currency. We made 150k from the run and buying the skins consumed them all
Hey there, where I can get the double barricades? Is this only available in game between waves (thread) or I can set up this in lobby and add to my stock? Cheers from Poland!
This is a Cursed Thread you unlock after beating the first boss! It's now easier to get however with both Thread Rerolls and total Threads now reduced from ~370 to ~270
This happened to myself and a friend, and we had to play with 5 less barricades! Thankfully the devs are looking into this so expect an update very soon
Flyers HP and lizard assassin HP are issue for me x) when you reach over mission 5 on difficulty 10.. almost impossible to stop them ( Druids shouldnt be able to pass over barricade..) .but barricade on solo is good. ( 22 ^^' but on hard difficulty you need to get the double-barri fast :'D ) ( sry if my english's bad.)
@@jonathanrojo7065 i just launch the game and check the 1.09.. indeed x) and with barricade trap it's a bit abusiv. +50 dmg to nearby traps. lol.? ( if you play MAX with his upgrad and focus only on flyers after mission 6-7 you can reach mission 15 with no problem. but after is very difficult x) ( like .. for no reason a barricade just " POOF.. and game over haha x) ( well problem i find was Druids and some Troll/orc with Bow cause they can attack crystal rift from far.
Thankfully the vents are a huge help for the flyers now - especially the druid ! You can even upgrade the vents to stun large enemies, so it'll both damage and stun the big blue fliers!
i wonder how much of the fanbase they lost before this much needed update. i still play, but more and more devs and companies keep doing this stuff and destroying a lot of good will before the inevitable rollbacks
I think it's unfair to compare this game to the faults of other companies. RE had a vision for a spin-off that didn't follow the same formula of previous games but seemingly didn't communicate this well enough, while stating an official sequel will still keep the old gameplay. I think to address complaints as quickly as they have, even if it goes against their vision for said spin-off, is quite admirable in my opinion 😄

The barricade update wasn't necessary, in solo, there is a tips where you can put barricade to get only one way for ennemy on each map and put a 1 or 2 dead box on it and kill alot of ennemy... in multiplayers, it's became more complicate cause you haven't enough barricade, but you can cover more area and hope to get the buff who add number of barricade to fix this "issues", double barricade are really great to... So buying barricade wasn't necessary to me... With the one way tips, your only issue are flying mob and you put bow around nexus and it's help
I'm inclined to disagree. While I was able to play every level with just 16 barricades and do think the problem was others not taking the time to learn this, the overall issue is that people don't want to learn this, and don't like change. The game launched to Mostly Negative reviews and is still currently Mixed on Steam. The barricade update was necessary purely due to how many people are leaving bad reviews and refunding the game. I myself am surprised that so many don't have the same experience as others and myself, but lowering the barrier to entry was needed for the game's longevity, even if I preferred a strict limit to barricades. Maybe a separate mode that locks out the new options could come? We just need a nice middle ground now imo!
@@robinvouz So adding barricade to expensive price cause players don't use brain to use the current barricades to have a unique way seems the solution of their bad rating of the game? ^^°
Giving players purchaseable barricades is their response as players have been asking for it. It's 4,000 coins, but you earn coins very easily this game, can upgrade to cost 3,000, and place these in addition to the 22 free cades !
This was super informative. Subscribed, and looking forward to more. Thanks!
Thanks for the support! I'll be sure to post more like this in the future!

It needs an endgame skull sink! I have 100k skulls after a couple matches at 1.5-2x difficulty
I believe this is something being worked on! They teases The Alchemist as a new NPC in the next major patch who I'd image will act as a skull sink
