  • This series is a video where we will learn about Japanese kanji homophones with simple example sentences. We have gathered 479 vocabulary words that have the same pronunciation but different kanji and meanings. I will upload it in a total of six parts. So, shall we get started?

    While these videos have potential to be helpful, there's a major flaw that makes it hard to learn with them. Each of these words have slightly different pitch accents so repeating the hiragana word with no pitch accent multiple times before hearing the word in a sentence example isn't helpful. Because the video is using computer voices, the normal hiragana of the word doesn't have the nuances of the pitch until the word is read as it's kanji in the full sentence. I hope this can be updated in future videos since each of these words are considered homophones by English definition, they are phonetically different with nuances that native and advanced speakers can pick up on
