    Diane Kruger is a national treasure, kudos on her, I hope she gets more movie roles, especially a comic book role: she could be Catwoman, Golden Glider

    She really gets it - balance is everything. This is also another confirmation that I'm a lot more "woman-like" emotionally, as well as generally in life, if we're speaking in stereotypical terms. I guess that's due to an absence of a father figure also, so I relate in that regard too.

    • @DeeEllEff
      @DeeEllEff 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was raised by a “single parent”: my maternal grandmother. It took many years before I fully realized how much stronger and better a person I am because of that. Not just stereotypically (“he is more sensitive”), but practically and realistically, too.

    • @AntoniTolwinski
      @AntoniTolwinski 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@DeeEllEff Crazy coincidence there - I was also predominantly raised by my maternal grandmother, and likewise believe that has attributed to having a stronger character (I tend to believe women are the stronger gender, practically and realistically, as you put it).

      My sis and I were raised by my mother. Dad lived away for the majority of the year and put his business first. My aunt lived across the road with her 2 daughters (husband lived away too). My family was me and 5 women. I felt so much more comfortable with women when talking about emotional things. However, since I came into addiction recovery and did a lot of therapy I find that there are men that I can be vulnerable with too. But there's always been this distrust of men because I have felt so unlike so many of them, namely being in touch with my emotions. But having said that I have learnt the most I've learnt from male therapists who have modelled an honest and open masculinity to me. None of the machismo rubbish you see. I wish others could have such great male role models. I didn't get any till I was 26 so I'm so grateful I have them now.

    Women need men, and men need women. But men also need men, and women also need women. We all fill specific roles in each others lives.
    Not having a father or mother as a young boy is just as damaging as it is to a young girl. We all need each other.

      That's all very well, but as they have shown themselves to be on social media modern women today are just to toxic and self focused for any man to want to get with them, as if he isn't Chad 666 then he's just a creep. So men have accepted the leave me alone message, an have done so. A man wants peace and quiet, not constant drama, which is all what modern women want, that and the bad boys who give them the tingles, which a good decent man doesn't, because he's "boring". So screw women, "I don't need no man" is their feminist message no matter what Diane says.

    It’s funny that it’s so impossibly hard to raise a child perfectly. We adopted a girl who was 8, sexually abused and really messed up. Probably too late to fix and therapy didn’t work because she refuses to be real. And it was incredibly expensive. Anyways to make a long story longer, she’s 30 now, has 4 kids from 4 different men and my wife and I are raising 3/4 of them because she has been using meth and pot for a while and she’s with this guy who’s abusive. We’re raising two boys and 1 girl. She was 2 last December. And she’s the only one who hasn’t had much contact with her mother since she was 6 months old. She just asked us to hold onto her for awhile. So she can get it together. My whole point I’m finally getting to is that she is thoroughly loved by everyone she comes in contact with and it makes you wonder if that in itself is damaging. Because one day we’ll set her loose in the world and that’s when she’ll realize it’s not all sweetness out there. The world is sometimes dark and ugly. But she’s so adorable and hasn’t hit the terrible twos yet. So we’re enjoying her while we can unless the court takes her away. Cheers, Bill

    Fathers give kids = stability, confidence and discipline.
    If women want kids they need to chase the good man NOT the man that just has money, is hot or has a big D. There are good men everywhere but most of them get ignored now because the vast majority of women have a list of requirements that are nothing to do with being a good partner, classic examples are: over 6ft tall, earns over 100k, has a nice car etc.

    I was raised in a house full of women. I'm the only son in a family of a single mom and three younger sisters. In my 'dating and mating' life, this has given me a sort of insight that I think a lot of real 'capital A' Alpha types lack.
    And I think that Ms. Kruger has a very good point. All males have estrogen. All females have testosterone. We share a lot of biological imperatives that are very present in our psychology. The need to be present in the next generation, the defense of our young, the need to provide, all these things are common to men and women.
    I myself am what I call a 'lower case alpha' male. I'm not much on competition or proving to everyone how high up a wall I can pee but if you muck about with those under my protection, you do so at your *considerable* peril. I have seriously eff'ed up people that harmed those I love, and I'm perfectly willing to do so again if necessary. But I also get flowers for my wife at random, tell her I love her every day, and am very careful with her feelings.

    If women don't need us men, we sure as hell do not need women. I've been single for over 90% of my life. I've done really well so far for myself and the last thing I need is for a woman to come and ruin all that for me.

    Fair enough women need positive male role models in their lives, but the idea it is invaluable for girls to have a dad isn't fair to women who are raising children together; either as a couple or a in communal kind of setting. Does she believe a woman raised by two women will be incomplete or unbalanced?
    Growing CHILDREN need positive role models of EITHER GENDER or non binary or whatever to help them grow to be balanced adults, (capitalized for emphasis, not anger).

    • @sams311
      @sams311 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wonder, though, if she's getting to a point (and I admit this is controversial today) is there something unique and special in each of the genders, in men and women: that we are wholistic beings, where our minds and bodies work together symbiotically, that what happens in our minds inevitably affects our bodies, and what happens to our bodies affects our minds. If this is true, then men and women do each bring something unique to a child's growth and maturity, in part because men and women have these differences built into their bodies.....and that's a good thing!

    • @LumiMoonCh
      @LumiMoonCh 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sams311 Children need positive influences, regardless of gender. It is better to have male, female, and/or gender neutral influences, but that doesn't mean mother and father explicitly. A girl could have two mothers and great male role models in uncles, teachers, friends, etc.
      Having a father isn't invaluable.
      To say so is insensitive to those who do not, and to the single mothers and same sex couples raising kids.

    • @sams311
      @sams311 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LumiMoonCh Perhaps that point - that "a father isn't invaluable" - is one of the central issues. Based on her experience of growing up without one, it sounds like Diane Kruger thinks having a father is very invaluable. That resonates with my own, opposite experience of growing up with a dad who made it his primary responsibility to care for us, his family. I saw first-hand how invaluable that relationship was to me, a relationship that I couldn't have had with anyone but the man that raised me as his son. I don't mean a two-parent mother/father home is the solution to all life's problems, of course. But at its core, I believe it is a uniquely healthy foundation for a family because men and women are designed with distinct features. In this way, children can be both biologically conceived and raised with both a parent of their own gender and another of the opposite gender, to learn first-hand how to be one and treat the other. I know this might seem insensitive to some, and I don't explicitly want to offend anyone. But I believe this is a truth too precious to sacrifice. It's a message that makes fathers (men) and mothers (women) both invaluable, an empowering message to everyone.

    • @LumiMoonCh
      @LumiMoonCh 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rabca.123 No. I'm saying you don't need a father to grow up well.
      The idea that all girls need a father, it's invaluable, gives the impression if you don't have one, you will not have a good upbringing.
      I'm not trying to diminish the value or importance of fathers.
      Having positive role models, whether they are parents, friends, teachers, of any or no gender is invaluable. None of these need to be male. It is good to have the perspective of various genders, but not essential in my opinion, to the positive growth of people.
      You can be raised by two mothers or two fathers and grow up perfectly fine.
      All caregivers, regardless of gender, are valid; as long as they teach the right morals.
