    I don’t see many frogs in the lakes I fish but I will try that ‘tadpole’ out

    Another excellent episode. That is one wild looking ' Warbler" fly. Crazy the fish eat that and also those Tequilla units.

      Yes, crazy attractor patterns to use when the hatches are non-existent.

    Any reports on whether Wilbur and surrounding lakes killed this year? Also, when fishing Boobies, do you use a short leader like 6' and do you let your line sink right to bottom before stripping? Or do you typically want to fish the boobies midwater? I've had not great success using boobies and wondering if I'm doing it wrong.

      We always use a Type 7 or higher full sink line when fishing Boobies, regardless of the depth we are fishing. We use 5-6ft of 12lb straight Fluoro from your fly line to the fly (do NOT use a tapered leader). Keep it short so you can give the fly action and keep it in the zone. We have to best success when fishing boobies in water less than 10ft but have used them in water up to 30ft. The key is using short, FAST, quick strips for the entire retrieve. If your wrist doesn’t get sore by the end of the day than you weren’t stripping quick enough 🤪. You always want to fly in front of the fish so we tend to let the fly sink to the bottom before starting the retrieve. Hope this helps 👌

    Where do you find the estaz in the purple and pink you were using?

      Estaz, 15mm plush chenille, or Fritz all works and can be purchased at Togens Fly Shop www.togensflyshop.com

    Have you tried the warbler in other Color’s ?

    • @SFOTF
      @SFOTF  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, in black, white, and olive. All work well in different sun levels, depths, and water clarity. Darker colors in low light and murky water and brighter colors with good light and clearer waters.
