As always, the ZMaster, of crappie fishing. Great video Don, and we all have had fish get away when we have been distracted. Have a great week and keep up the videos.

Thanks Dennis; much appreciated. I usually don't bother to include fails in my stories. However, after reviewing the video, it was nifty that the camera just happened to be at the perfect angle to capture the chaos we all experience from time to time. Glad you enjoyed the show; not too many more chances to get out with freezing temps on the way. Have a wonderful week, Don

Thanks so much, Gary. Sorry for the late reply...we have been in the process of moving from Jefferson City to Holden Missouri. Have a blessed day, Don

Thanks Bill. Looks like freezing nighttime temps are right around the corner so this is likely the last slab adventure this year... not to mention we move next week a couple of hours west of here. Busy times. Best of luck to your Bills. I'm fantasizing about a Chiefs team with Derrick Henry and Patrick Mahomes 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 Don

Very relaxing video. That pond is full of solid crappie. A few more days of mild temps and it's going to get chilly. Have a great week Don!!

Thanks Gabe, much appreciated. For a small body of water that pond has some excellent crappie. Not looking forward to freezing nighttime temps coming soon...but we sure don't have control of the weather. It was good to slip in this trip during all the moving hubbub. Best wishes, Don

Thank you Virgillio. I'm not sure if there will be any more fishing trips this season. Nighttime temperatures drop below freezing in a few days so Mother Nature will be in control. As always, your comments are much appreciated. Have a great week, Don

I know losing that last big crappie was a let down, but that had to get your blood pumping a little harder than normal! I just watched the video and it wore me out when that fish took off with your pole! Another great video Don, wishing you and your family all the best and look forward to future content. God Bless You sir!

Thanks, Tony. Great comments. One of the reasons float tube fishing is exciting and fun is the number of times that fish grab a lure just dangling over the side. It is quite common, but this time the situation involved a fish flopping on the measuring board... resulting in a successful escape. From the fish's perspective they don't seem to care about the giant duck and flippers up there. Hope all's well on your end; fishing season is winding down here. Don

This time of year, people are amazed that fish are still biting. I tell them that they will bite up until ice-out. Dad always put his fishing stuff away in the fall. He is amazed when I tell him that fish are biting in December (ohio). Thanks for the video. Jeff

Thanks and I hear you Jeff. For many years I felt the same way as your Dad and put the poles up when the guns came out. When we moved to Springfield in 2000 and I started winter fishing on the Ozark lakes (often when it was snowing) with my buddy Sparky, it entirely changed my perspective. I was emboldened to take my pontoon on the James River and clobbered crappie and bass when it wasn't frozen over. Lesson learned was that fish will bite year round but adjustments for the cold are essential. Thanks again and have a blessed week. Don

I have really taken to the StingerZ. My favorite approach so far is suspended under a cork in a float & fly presentation. The little bubble near the end of the tail does get looped around the hook every so often but that is a minor inconvenience.

Thanks, Brandywine. Yes, that little StingerZ tail does get tangled from time to time. I floated one for a while and at the right place and time it should work wonderful. It was a lot of fun to use four of the new Micro Finesse lures; I don't have any LarvaZ... assume they will be good in moving water. I'm all set for panfishing next season and will be chasing bass again too. Have a blessed week, Don

We knew you were going to catch them because the cows were standing up. At least that's what my grandfather used to tell me. I wish I had gotten an explanation.

Ha, your Grandfather was a man of wisdom Darren, and now you passed it on.... and I'm much wiser now. I know you are still chasing those nuisance bass 😆😆 but eventually will transition to panfishing. It's the best of both worlds and puts great chow in the freezer. Hope you are settling in and doing well in AR. All the best, Don

Us the sakata for bait 🎣🤫 like the natural for for fishing but plastic is okay. But can the fish digest the plastic ⁉️ we us for baits like I found in fish stumick -brush hogs and sinkos- for some of them. I pot a googen squad worm and water and other stuff and no break down of the 🐛🪱 never buy those again.
