Michael Chambers and Bruno Falcon ushered in this New and Unique Urban style of dancing back in the 1980s on the streets of LA. Two of the best to ever do it. Period.
WATCHING THIS FOOTAGE OF BOOGALOO SHRIMP & POPIN TACO BRINGS BACK MEMORIES AND IS VERY UPLIFTING TO ANY NEW COMER TO THE POPING SCENE. THESE TWO ARE FANTASTIC AND STILL BRILIANT TO WATCH
I'm 51 years old and this video just made me break into the windmill! I've been in the hospital now for 3 weeks and I'm starting to get some feeling back in my legs the doctors say with some Rehabilitation I should be able to walk in 6 to 8 months right now the only difficult thing is trying to get around with this colostomy bag
Turbo was the man. I grew up in Wilmington Ca in the mid 80's. Every body talked about him and this kid name coco. It was special to us cause they was from our infamous town. Everybody was pop locking thanks to them. Great memories.
look, plain and simple, these two are THE greatest poppers ever, during their period and even to this day. They're legends in their own right. and none of the kats that have come along since can hold a candle to them. 80's owned the breaking lifestyle. im glad to have been lucky enough to grow up during these times!
Pop and Taco was my cousin's teacher in long beach .. the garbage down to the driveway was filled with students. I was visiting my cousin that weekend in 1982. Watching it all. I had no idea I was in the presence of a legendary dancer who help MJ do the moon walk Now can anyone confirm the talk that pop and Taco learned the moon walk from turbo /boogaloo shrimp?
Well I knew people who were as good if not better than these guys. They won numerous cups too. But these guys had Movies to promote their faces. That doesnt make them the best. They are great for sure.
hell yeah, it's been 25 years since I heard this jam, one of my favorites. Man it takes me back and I miss those good ol days. Thanks for posting this jam, videos not too bad.
they where both the dancers who got my attention back then in the movie Breakdance. For me they got the best moves from all the dancers in that movie.simple as that!!!
bugaloo/turbo/chambers was the best of all time.. Both men represented both cultures well..i loved it back then.there was no sides.we just wanted to see them dance..they were awesome.
When i first seen the movie Breakin,i always knew there was something special about Chambers and Taco. The scene in this vid when there dancing together in the barber shop is freakin amazing!.
I was thought how to break dance by these two guys personally they made such a huge impact on my life when I was 9. Hope whatever they maybe up too these days it is good. Cause they where amazing young men whom always had time for all the little kids that would crowd them.
Soy MOMAN'S BREAKER actualmente tengo 53 años y en😂seño Break dance en mí ciudad (Concordia Entre Ríos en Argentina).....Para las generaciones actuales y futuras ...el Breaking no morirá jamás.!!!
thanks so much for this!! damn ICE T is old hahahaa its funny cuz hes even older than me and Im 37 been with this scene most of my life ! these guys are PROPER dancers, they started most of ...everything !
I can remember when family took us to see footloose. I was about 12 and hated the movie except the short scene with the sidewalk breakdancer. Back then with no internet we got the boom box and watched breaking on VHS stop pause rewind play lol. My best friend and I would hit high schools talent shows damn good times.
Wow those were the days, I remembered during 6th thru 8th grade we would bring our own card board and beat box's and called out fools we thought we can smoke, but we got that shit handed to us I mean we were ok we even went against our enemies when we lost we shooked hands end up coming together and naming our self's the 4th Street locker's in San Jose CA not only that we got our beat box's taking away got detention, I'm trying to say we suck and yet we had the best times of our lives nothing could not take that from us...
Hearing you mention no internet , and VHS rewinding certain scene over and over again reminds me of similar things . When Flashdance came out I was in 10th grade . There was /is a massive mall down the street from my old high school and Macy's department store had a tv in their clothing section and it was playing a continual loop of the breakdancing scene from the movie featuring the Rock Steady Crew . We would go there everyday after school and watch it . It was a big deal...everyone in school...Hey ! Did you hear they're playing the Breakdance scene from Flashdance at Macy's ?? Then I remember Rod Stewart's Young Turks video had one scene of a white popper busting some moves for a minute or so . I'd watch the video just to see that popper . And Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin came out with a song in the early 80s called In the Mood that featured two young black poppers if I recall . I loved that video and song . Thought it was VERY cool a rock God / legend such as Robert Plant had the insight and vision to put a popper in his video . He knew that shit was fire !! 🔥💯❤️
Can't tell you how much we loved poppin taco and boogaloo shrimp in England in the early eighties! I would have killed for the jacket that taco had in the "breakdance" movie. Old skool, respect.
Yea, i was 8 years old and dancing in the streets of oakland. 1984. It was incredible i can't wait for time travel so i can say good bye to this non sense present!!!
Well done for puttin that together and puttin it up.Total class man!!Im also 40 and popped and animated threw the 80's/early 90's,original hip hop is coming back guy's,true art indeed, proper moves, executed well not jumping around like ur drunk like many stand up streetdancers today. They were so original and the best!!Tacco and shrimp forever...
Boogaloo Shrimp's forward and backwards float walk also mind- blowing🤯 just look of the reactions from the Asian kids who witnessed it all live and in person 💯🔥🏆🐐
Boogaloo shrimp influenced most the popping dancers from the movie brakin 1 and brakin 2 and Michael Jackson learned new moves from boogaloo shrimp and pop n taco he took most of his moves from Jeffrey Daniel but he was good in robot dance and he has his own dancing moves he was smooth in his dance but I respect the originals rip mj rip pop n taco
All that brings back good ole memeries when I used to breakdance back in 86'...GOOD TIMES,GOOD TIMES ......RIP to SHABBA-DOO.....big ups to BoogaloShrimp ..ps what ever happened to Poppin Taco?✌️
If I could go back to any decade it would be the 1970s. That's when hip hop, rapping and break dancing started. Than live through it all again into the 1980s!!
I got much respect and love for Taco. But Shrimp is the man! Once he danced in the movie Breakin' with that broom outside the store on the sidewalk....and...did that "tick-walk" with it...Maaaan! It was over!!! lol!!
Not necessarily! It all boils down to one's "personal preference". Taco is a beast that is for sure! Not taking anything away from that Legend! But, Shrimps movements just spoke to everything in my being back then so much that it inspired me to develop many of his moves as a base to mine (waaaaaaay back in the day...lol).
This two dancers are some of the West Coast every got to offer every area in California got their own stories Polynesian and Asian dancers were new to the seen, black dancers were the first kats who brought out that dance only thing with those kats their heads were bigger then what they got to offer..back then and still today
Me and my brother got very smooth glides in similar Nikes by shaping a flat piece of 3-ply to keep the sole rigid. Toe spins were also easy to do with rigid soles.
I don't know how many times I'd go to the drive in's with my friends to watch Break'n. Then when it came out on VHS, it was like $80, and I paid the price. One of my personal cult fav's.
amazing,,if i see this i am so proud on thiss people .that is history .the music is classicc ,special forr thiss video .oh my good ,somthing move in me
SHRIMP INFLUENCED ME AN MY WHOLE CREW BACC IN THE 80'S!! I MEAN WE WOULD PAY TO SEE THE MOVIE, AN WE WOULD STAY IN THE THEATRE AN WATCH BREAKIN LIKE 5 TIMES A DAY, TRYIN TO LEARN SOME MOVES!! THOSE WERE THE BEST TIMES AS A YOUNG KID THAT GREW UP WITH AN IN HIP HOP FROM THE START, I FEEL SO HONORED TO BE STILL HIP HOPPIN TO THIS DAY!! I JUST ASK THAT YOU YOUNG KIDS UP YA GAME WITH THE MUSIC, CUZ BACC THEN EVERY RAP SONG THAT WAS MADE, WHATEVER COAST IT WAS FROM, IT HAD REAL CONTENT, MEANING, AN SUBSTANCE, AN TODAY YOU KIDS ARE JUST TAKIN RAP FOR GRANTED BECAUSE WE LAYED THE FOUNDATION FOR YALL TO BE ABLE TO BE A PART OF THIS MONUMENTAL MACHINE THAT TOOK OVER POP CULTURE, AN YALL DONT KNOW WHAT HIP HOP MEANS TO PEOPLE WHO WERE INVOLVED WITH IT FROM THE START!! WE VALUE IT, MORE THAN MAKIN MONEY OFF OF IT!! AN THATS WHY THE QUALITY OF TODAYS MUSIC COMPARED TO BACC THEN CANNOT COMPARE!!

GenX, the only true generation.
Best wishes for a continued recovery 👊🏻
How did Rehab go hope you windmilling and pop-locking
Both of these guys were cold as ice back then. Two different styles but both on point when it came to executing each movement precisely.
Turbo was the man. I grew up in Wilmington Ca in the mid 80's. Every body talked about him and this kid name coco. It was special to us cause they was from our infamous town. Everybody was pop locking thanks to them.
Great memories.
I used to visit my cousins in Wilmas in that time but only during VAcations because I am from mexico.

@@JerryJonesstepdown. the moonwalk was created in the early 1940s by Bill Bailey thats who inspired MJ to preform it and a lot of his footwork
Love the video! Great job Ice T! Taco & Shrimp (my homies) are tight! They represented.
Shrimp and Taco were the best poppers of all time. Hands down. Precision moves and great execution..

These two were the best out of all the dancers during the mid 80's. They were Michael Jackson's favorite dancers from the era.
awesome i’ve seen michael done some of these dances
More like early 80s. 83 n 84
No one can touch these boys! No one! Pure legends!
Dope video man. Chambers is probably the best dancer that has ever existed.
Best popper. Not dancer. Mike has that title!
These guys are better than Michael
