      My 6 year old son has been playing football from mini kickers, but he has no power in his shoots.
      Can you help out?

    • @bendenton580
      @bendenton580 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Crossbar challenge helps build power in a simple way, but can lead to them leaning back when shooting. I'd focus on looking at the technique a lot closer, such as where his foot is hitting the ball, are his ankles locked, are his hips pointing In the right way, does he strike through the ball. Additional exercises like squats and leg exercises help build the muscles needed, but that will be later on in the journey.

      Im not the guy in the video but I coach a youth team. Since my son was little and I have told his teammates to do this as well. When you are at home, always have a ball at your feet. Walking to the kitchen, walking but dribbling through the house to get there and back. Sitting on the couch watching TV, tick tocks and toe rolls. Eventually you won't even be looking at the ball when you do these things. Nothing replaces touches on the ball. When you go outside for some real practice at home, set up cones and dribble through them, tick tocks/toe rolls/V-ups ect moving forward a set distance and backwards a set distance

    Any suggestions on how to run these drills with a team of 15 or more while also avoiding lines? I prefer drills where everyone is moving.

      Have your players doing rondo's, 4v4, etc while you rotate players in and out with one on one time

    • @Amansvista
      @Amansvista ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Firstly have more than one player per station, then Use the same setup to the left and to the right of this one to make three stations which mean three teams , the three teams shoot into the same goal, this then works shooting from different angles, rotate the stations to get the three different angles.

      I had the same question. I like what he is doing but this is a lot of one-on-one time, very tricky to do during a team practice.

    how far out from goal do you shoot from for drills and also during game for U-14

    • @ProgressiveSoccer
      @ProgressiveSoccer  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends on the individual player. Challenge them and keep pushing back the distance. But good to start close so they build confidence.

    I am a new coach for a u13 team. Can I implement these drills in small groups, or is it more effective in solo trainings? I worry if I have too many kids doing this at once they will be sitting around too often waiting for their turn.

    • @ProgressiveSoccer
      @ProgressiveSoccer  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes you can implement in small groups. You just wont be able to give as much individual attention to help each player. But yes you can!

  • @motiv8j

    For shooting, do you coach only toe down/laces or do you subscribe to big wide foot/passing the ball into the net?

    My daughter is struggling to elevate the ball??

    • @ProgressiveSoccer
      @ProgressiveSoccer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Strike on the lower half of the ball. Bring her follow through up off the ground. Approach with more intensity. Encourage her to hit the ball hard and don't care about where it goes in the beginning. SHe needs to discover how to generate more power. She has it she just dont know how to attack the ball yet.

    In America... its soccer, we have a different kind of football in the NFL

    • @ProgressiveSoccer
      @ProgressiveSoccer  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Absolutely! In America, soccer is often referred to as "soccer" to differentiate it from American football, which is more commonly known simply as "football." It's all about embracing the diversity of sports and recognizing the unique terminology used in different regions. Whether it's soccer, football, or any other sport, what matters most is the love and passion we have for the game! ⚽🏈🌟

    why you letting her shoot high like that, we both know thats gonna hurt her down the road... placement is key, should be aiming for the corners low and hard...

    It’s a good drill if you don’t have 14 players waiting in line. I would definitely recommend 2 players practicing this instead of coach and player. Also would emphasize on player giving me same shot a few times in a row. Seems a little random kicking at the end. Ball is never on same spot.
    Just me. We all different with different approaches.
