Right hang on, so I play this every week, and your telling me this competition is based on a group of guys basically playing the game themselves and coming to a joint decision on where they think the ball is.
Call me bloody crazy here but if any one actually remembers the old days of playing spot the ball each competition was based on an actual football event or match where there was actually a ball involved, when the results were announced you actually got to see where the ball was, you can't get any more accurate than that, not a hand full of guys basically doing what your doing, making an estimated guess !!!!!!!!!, so to summarise then, to win this game you need to hope your on the same wave length as these guys regardless of where the actual ball might be. Seriously made me think about my continued support of this competition.

Considering the size of this competition and the resources they have, it wouldn't be hard for them to use a photographer of their own who could take a unique picture no one else has. This would mean there would be no photo to find and the game is played with an actual football rather than the judgement of others.
Andy 8437 it’s the only legal way to do it. They can’t let people bet on events wich have already happened by the law
@@jamesworrall8489 that is literally what they do lmao, I was curious so I snipped the 'spot the ball' image and uploaded it to google image search, surprise surprise, 1 search result and that is of the 'spot the ball' image without the ball.
But the judges guesses where the ball goes? So the judgement isn't based on actual picture where the ball goes.
Thats the whole point. Otherwise every player would chose the exact coordinates where the ball is. Their decision is based on experience and professional knowledge making the decision fair and professional.

@@bogathlorant That's the whole point of BOTB. They're human beings and their guesses are meant to be imperfect, leaving it up to chance. Otherwise, if it was some AI deciding the ball coordinates, people would come up with other AI to calculate the exact coordinates too.
So it's basically pure luck
Just save that money instead work hard it will pay off buy the car you want

by your own definition, you’re contradicting yourself? if it’s chance, anyone has a chance to win - if it’s down to skill, only those skilled have a chance to win, therefore meaning it isn’t everyone’s game, only those that are skilled...

Hi Mike! The basis of the game must categorically be the skill of an entrant versus the skill of professionals - not versus the chance that the original spot on the football picture is picked. It is a subtle but important legal definition by which we are bound to operate.
The panel of judges is formed of experienced professionals on a rotating basis, including both referees and players, who each offer their best opinion.
Using a panel of judges ensures that nobody can ever know the original position of the ball - resulting in a process that is fair, transparent, audited and honest.

Now I've seen it's a spot the ball and not a random raffle I wont bother playing. So much faff when you could just pick a number.
Well they do have other competitions that are basically raffles, where you answer a question and wait for the results. Imo I'd say there was more chance of winning this, than one of those because I presume a lot of people would give the same answer so it would have to be a randomly selected name from the ones who got it right. At least here, as small as the chance might be, there is a chance, that you may have just picked the right spot. In any case, take it all with a pinch of salt and don't give up your day job.

This actually makes it a fair competition though unless they don't really do it this way. Having the ball in the picture would mean you're betting on something that has already happened and you could just find the picture and get the coordinates yourself

Why is it always and ONLY based on football? Change genre, movies, TV personalities, other sports etc why only spot the ball game? Too repetitive too boring smh
