    Sorry for so many cuts - the video ended up being too long so I only included the important parts. Also forgot to record gluing of the bezel insert. For this, I used G-S Hypo Cement.

      Вот почему ни ЧЧЗ, ни Мераном не могут делать подобного, ну хотя бы экспериментально ограниченными партиями? Всё приходится делать самому.
      Мои часы, изначально собирались из двух часов, для хомажа (моддинг, колхозинг - называйте как хотите): сначала поменял чёрный обычный 12 часовой (вместе с арабскими цифрами) цифер на синий цифер с небольшим переливом, без каких-то на нём цифр; далее вставил всё в 110й корпус, далее поменял заводские стрелки на свои (вроде бы с командирские.ком заказывал, у меранома таких не было на тот момент), далее поменял безель на простой глянцевый. В результате всех дешёвых (ну или не совсем, т.к. за всё приходилось отдавать и часовщику и заказывать несколько раз на различных сайтах часы под этот проект, назовём его так) манипуляций получились дешёвые и сердиты часы (для завода это вышло бы действительно очень дёшево). forum.watch.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=3655808&d=1704003242

    amazing skills ... love those amphibias ... sadly i don't like some of the newer parts .. like monolitic charging handle and glass caseback .. but if they do perform well you did a great job ... the particular shape and engineering of the original caseback and charging handle i think it is better than aftermarket parts in order of funcioning and safety for the watch movement .. but this is only my opinion... i also asked to Meranom Guy about quartz powered Vostoks and i've got great answer from them ... so chapeao to them ... and thanks for having their attention to me .. bye .. from italy

    Nice work, that's a beauty! With today's prices ( compared to the 1990s ) Vostok ought to come with blued screws and much improved lume and lume application. Still true to 'vintage' but just better. The wide number of bezel options now make Vostoks far more attractive. Since they are mechanical watches, may as well have a display back option from the factory. Most of what Vostok detractors have criticized can be change without really straying from their classic character/styling.

    really great job on this one, thanks for sharing. Though I think that you should have taken the opportunity to change the hands as well. I'm not a huge fan of the original hand-set and especially with this dial the paddle-hands look awesome I think.

    • @lupo1185
      @lupo1185 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      you should definitely do more videos on modding! I just changed the regular hands to (extra lumed) pedal-hands on a similar watch-dial (together with a seconds-hand also heaving a square lume instead of a round one), works just perfectly with the matching shapes.
      What would be your source for the wider hands? Igor?

    • @lupo1185
      @lupo1185 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      then I stay tuned for the hands.
      Did you encounter any problems with the replacing Meranom-Crown? I was able to install mine BUT in both Positions I could only set the time and not rewind it for some reason so I changed back to the original one (it's definately the correct one)...

    • @lupo1185
      @lupo1185 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      24h thanks for the tip, actually thats exactly how i've done it in the first place and now I tried it again, again without success...funny thing is, i have No Problem reinstlling the original crown so I guess I'm doing it right. Maybe there is a Problem with the crown-stem.
      Weird Thing: i can actually feel the little click when i unscrew the crown and pull to "Set time", though the (theoretical) winding position will set the time as Well.
      Lets see what meranom says (however new spare-parts will take a month...)

    • @lupo1185

      24h its a 090, i checked several Times before and after ordering (as I got nervous) though it might be they Mixed it up (they werent really labeled in the package) or there is a minor defect to the stem I can't see. I red of Others havig issues with these crowns though (i mean, installing it is not that hard. I was able to do all the other operations)...thanks a lot for caring!

    Mesmerizing to watch (no pun intended)! I stumbled upon this video, and I don't know much about watches. Therefore I'd like to ask if this modification is purely for aesthetic reasons and for the fun of it, or if it serves other purposes. Is there a risk that the watch will lose its water resistance?

    • @24h_
      @24h_  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It was mostly for aesthetic reasons and for the fact that I enjoy taking apart watches. The lume increases legibility in the dark and lasts quite a long time, although it gets dimmer and dimmer over time (if your eyes are adjusted to the dark, you will be able to read it for many hours after being exposed to light). Yes, there is a risk of losing the water resistance when you open up a watch, but I always check that the gaskets are clean, in good condition, apply some silicone grease, and make sure the caseback and crown are tightened. I don't have a water resistance tester, but none of my watches have failed yet.

    When the hell is chistopol factory gonna start making movements again? Ive been needing a 2416 movement to replace a dead one in my 710 case for 3 months now. Then i seen they bumped the prices up on the automatic movements to $50 on meranom 🤦🏻‍♂️.

    That display caseback looks like it has a raised bezel. Does it make wearing any less comfortable?

    • @24h_
      @24h_  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It adds about 1mm of thickness to the watch. It's not that bothersome, but it still makes a difference compared to the "stock" caseback.

      @@24h_ Thanks. I like the look of it, but man, it's already a pretty thick watch. Still' a pretty cool mod. Specially if you go all out and get the blue screws and different rotor. Just for fun.

    • @24h_
      @24h_  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Push the crown in while you have the stem release button also pushed.
      With these Vostoks, sometimes you need to guide the stem further into the movement with some tweezers.

    It will no longer be used for diving, the glass that leaves the rear part visible is fragile and breaks with the pressure under water.

      Still rated for 200M. The glass is quite thick.

    Hello. Would you mind telling me:
    1. the size of the screwdriver that you use to remove the screw of both the rotor and the dial (screw on the side of the movement)
    2. what tools you used to remove the hands?
    3. what tools you used to put back the hands onto the dial?
    Thank you very much

    • @24h_
      @24h_  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. I don't remember the exact size. I have a set including Ø0.60, 0.70, 0.80, 1.00, 1.20, 1.30 and 1.50mm. Look for product # S31303 on CousinsUK.
      2. For removing hands I used the "lever" type. CousinsUK product # H39643. You can also use a cannon pinion remover if there's enough clearance. Be sure to use a piece of thin plastic to protect the dial when you are removing hands.
      3. To put hands back on I use a combination of hand tools and a press. Check product # H37126 and # H7350
      Similar tools can be found on eBay for cheaper, but I hope this gives you a good idea for where to start.

      Fábio The blue screws are not just cosmetic. By cleaning them and heating to a very specific temperature, an oxide forms and it gives this very distinct blue color which looks nice and protects the screw. There is no way to obtain a green color though this process.
