    It was one of the quietest and neutral preamp, with pure direct it was almost close to a straight wire.

    Always wanted this preamp to match the MX-1. I use my DSP A1 as the preamp to drive it and it sounds awesome.

    Nice Video! I own one for nearly 30 years now and run it with a Proton D1200 Power Amp. I am not a smoker, so it still runs well, except of the volume potentiometer that crackles and scratches and nearly drops out in some positions. Unfortunately, I don´t know if this is servicable or replacable.

    Great video! Question: What does the subsonic-filter exactly do??

    • @LiquidAudio
      @LiquidAudio  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question! A subsonic filter does what its name suggests - filters or attenuates sound that is below the low level of human hearing, typically below 20Hz, but that can really upset speakers, amplifiers and turntables when it is present. Turntables, especially cheaper ones, are often responsible for this 'infrasonic' noise. This noise requires high amplifier power to reproduce and can cause over-excursion and therefore damage to bass drivers for example.

    Hi, I have MX1 and CX1 with Jamo Concert 11 and is good mach. But I did never check the top cover of CX1 than the few day ago and I have question for you. Please can you tell me is CX1 hot more than 45*C hot on top of cover in position of transformer after normal listening cca 1h? Is that normal? And if is not do you know maybe what will be? Thank you so much

      Hi Alen, transformer temperatures will vary according to various factors such as environmental temperature, equipment positioning and ventilation, how hard you are driving the amplifier, quiescent current adjustment, general state of tune etc. For this reason, I strongly suggest you have her serviced by a specialist if you haven't done so in the last 10 years or so. This will allow for cleaning, the correct adjustments, identification of any suspect components and so on.

    Hello Liquid Audio,
    I just a CX-1 and the left channel went out after 3 minute. What could it be? Please help! Thank you!

    • @LiquidAudio

      Hi Taylor, I'd need your pre here for evaluation to offer any sort of diagnosis. If you have a really good hi-fi electronics specialist near you, I'd suggest getting her in for a better look.

    Hi
    My CX-1 has a faulty input knob. I believe the knob is loose and it makes cranky sounds in one channel. Sometimes one channel doesn't work at all. Can you please help out and tell from where can i get a replacement knob that can be shipped internationally.

      Hi, the control can likely be repaired, this is a preferable approach. I'd need much more information about the exact switch though to be able to cross reference something and for that or a repair, I'd really need the unit here.

      @@gordanbobanac9903 Can’t tell you a part number without seeing the pot, too easy to get wrong. Any good preamp will work well, the best you can find. Yamaha make some good ones: C-2, C-2X, CX-2 etc.

    Hi, do you know what is VA value of the transformer ?, want to replace 100V tordail to R core

    • @LiquidAudio
      @LiquidAudio  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      TheSagitis Hi, I don’t suggest you do that, the factory transformer is excellent. Much better to leave it as is and focus on other possible improvements.

    what is the best way to polish hifi equipment

    • @LiquidAudio
      @LiquidAudio  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lots of different ways, no one best way. It really depends on the materials and finish. I use a premium foaming cleanser for most metal finishes like this.

    I love mine. I probably wouldn't use a different two-channel preamp.
