I'm a Hawthorn supporter and was there that night. You could tell that the era had finally come to an end. If we were going to lose to anyone, I'm glad it was the bulldogs. They deserved some success after such a long drought 👍
one of the most stressful and happiest days of my life, in terms of football. I absolutely despised Hawthorn when I was a kid and I had to sit through them winning three premierships in a row, All I ever wanted was to see them lose but the day never came. I remember people thought that Hawthorn were still a chance at winning another one at the time but they were starting to fall apart, everyone knew it. The bulldogs were the fresh newcomer underdog team everyone had high hopes for. I was so nervous this entire game because I wanted both Hawthorn to lose and the Bulldogs to win a flag,and this night delivered the first half of it. I was so happy
this is what it's all about 55 years and they win consecutive finals. Well done Bulldogs for wiping out the three time premiers and perhaps put an end to their fourpeat hopes
I'm an eagles fan and I like Adelaide crows more then Bulldogs but now ive realised if only bulldogs won last year and beat hawthorn so they couldn't of won 3 in a row
The dogs wouldn't have won last year. The Hawks slowed down drastically this year in the finals. As long as the dogs didn't cough up in front of goal they were always going to win this game. I was pretty sure the Hawks were no chance to make the grand final after the Collingwood game. The Eagles would of put the same crap performance vs any team, not just hawthorn last year.
I am irish naturally i compare aussie rules with gaelic football.They're few things i don't like.but overall its a better game.Too much hand passing in gaelic football not in this game though

Looking forward to the dogs v hawks final again in 2024. God I miss Cometti and McAvaney commentating.
Forget about the grand final, this game was truly the highlight of the season. Hawthorn flogs finally getting shut up once and for good.
@J G love your dedication.
@J G Dawg this comment is 5 years old
i like how you always show the fans thats good
Bulldogs win back to back finals for the first time in 56 years, and all the commentators are talking about is Hawthorn
Rewatching ahead of 2024 finals. Same result coming up

@@jacobcfx lol youre sad
@@1davidinho0 I think you are champ 😹
That half time scrum reminiscent of the one in 2000 Round 21 Bulldogs vs. Bombers, the only loss Essendon had all season including the finals.
Felt so good putting an end to fourthorn
