    Ok I have a 28ft travel trailer and I understand the difference between stabilizer jacks and leveling jacks. I know that if you try to level your trailer with you stabilizer jacks you will tweak your camper to where your doors and slides will not open/close properly.
    Now having established all that here’s my question. Why don’t camper manufacturers build travel trailers on rigid frames like 5th wheels so they don’t tweak and bind so easily so leveling jacks can be used?
    They can’t be saving that much weight by using smaller frames and so what if it does weigh a little more?
    I don’t understand? It would make it so much simpler and easier to setup your travel trailer if they had real leveling jacks and a frame that won’t twist.

    Do you have a video on the differences between the PSX1 and PSX2? Yes, each side has it's own motor and the literature says each side is individually adjustable. True, but the PSX1 compensates for side to side level differences. Lippert touts they are faster. So other than what I mentioned what, if any, differences are there? Nothing on their website addresses this.

      We don't offer the PSX2, so let me get with Lippert on that.

      I just heard back from Lippert. The only difference between the two is the number of motors. The PSX1 has one motor, the PSX2 has two motors (as you mentioned). Hope that helps!

      @@etrailer thank you for your reply. I'm already aware that the PSX2 has two motors. I need to know what the PSX2 does that the PSX1 doesn't do. Why would somebody spend $300 more w/o out knowing if there is an advantage. So what is the answer that even Lippert doesn't seem to know? If you were going to install a stabilizer on your own trailer which one would you choose and WHY? Can you ask your associates my question in your next staff meeting?

    Mine stopped working first day of purchase. On the PSX2 find the small override port next to the motor. Remove the rubber port cover. Use a 5/16" socket to manually crank. Do not over crank beyond the stops.

      Thank you for sharing this. The jacks are designed to make contact with the ground and stop. When putting them in the stored position, they are to make contact with the stops and then stop retracting.

    Ours pop when walking or making the slightest movement in our camper, Lippert refused to warranty them.

    I have the PSx2. Should I be concerned one side extends and retracts faster than the other? It will complete the cycle, up or down 4-5 seconds before the other side.

    • @etrailer
      @etrailer 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't say this is anything to worry about. The stabilizing jacks are designed to work separate first and when they both make contact with the ground or leveling blocks they start working together. As long as they are both fully retracting and deploying, you are fine.

    • @etrailer

      The manual crank attachment point is at the opposite side of the bracket from the motor. If your motor is on the passenger side of the camper then the manual crank will be on the drivers side.

    What about manual backup if the motor fails? Is there a crank?

    • @etrailer
      @etrailer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has a manual crank option that will allow you to raise and lower the stabilizers. If you do not have a crank handle you can check out the following link to see the type that works with this kit.

    Things Happen? If the jacks are down and you are getting ready to leave but you find out that your motor is broke and won’t lift, how do you retract the legs? I don’t see any manual options to raise the jacks.

      @etrailer 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No doubt about that, things sure do happen.
      It's not mentioned in the video but the stabilizer does have a manual override. Check out the product page on our site. If you enlarge the 8th picture you can see its location. www.etrailer.com/Camper-Jack/Lippert-Components/LC298707.html

    Can this work on a skoolie

    • @etrailer
      @etrailer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A skoolie may be too tall to be able to properly use these stabilizers. All this means is that you would have yo weld a spacer in to get them at the right height. The stabilizer legs will deploy up to 30".

    Just wait til' ya accidentally bend one by actuating the nose leveler with the rear stabilizing legs still down... You'll quickly find out that the legs are WAY too thin/unwebbed/trussed. They want you to replace the entire assembly. Crazy.

    These came on my 19 Rockwood. I hate them,the manual crank down ones on the 14 Prowler I had worked much better. I had a motor go bad first day I owned it. Dealer came out and fixed it but still don't stabilize very well.

    Do these Jacks work on C-class RV with Ford E-450 chassis?

    • @etrailer
      @etrailer 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes they can be used to stabilize the rear end of a class C RV. You just want to make sure you have enough room to mount it to the frame without it interfering with anything else.

    Can’t I just get four real jacks and lift that baby up slightly? These stabilizers has been bad fior me. I think this product was built for simplicity and ease of use but it creates fir problems for me than it fixes.

      These stabilizer jacks can be replaces with scissor jacks instead. The scissor jacks are designed to just put pressure on the bottom of the frame rail in order to stabilize the camper.

    These Jacks will not level the camper side to side. Side to Side leveling must be done with wheel blocks under the wheels. It's a bit of a pain in the neck. I would actually prefer 4 independent manual jacks. They are also gutless wonders, and stall out before it lifts anything significantly.

    • @etrailer
      @etrailer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have the Electric Ground Control TT Automatic 5-Point Travel Trailer Leveling System by Lippert which is designed to lift and level the camper by 4 points of contact. Something to keep in mind is that you do not want to be lifting the tires off of the ground. This would cause an unsafe situation if something were to slide.

    • @etrailer
      @etrailer 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The best part about these stabilizer jacks is how easy they are to use. With the push of a button you can have your camper stabilized. The traditional style stabilizing jacks are going to have a much more stout design, but they will require more effort to get in place. It's really going to depend what your needs are and what kind of set up you want want each time you go camping.
