How Muhammad Ali Was Deceived by Islam

  • In 1964, a young boxer named Cassius Clay ("the Louisville Lip") won an upset victory over Sonny Liston. Later that year, Clay changed his name from Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. to Cassius X, then to Muhammad Ali. Ali initially joined the nation of Islam (promoting "the Honorable" Elijah Muhammad and Malcolm X) and refusing to be drafted into the Vietnam War. In interviews, Ali said that he changed his name because "Clay was a white name" and "a slave name," while "Muhammad" and "Ali" weren't. Ali eventually left the Nation of Islam and became an orthodox Sunni Muslim, though still later he became a Sufi. Following his death in 2016, Ali had a Muslim funeral and an Islamic prayer service.
Oddly enough, Muslim sources say that Muhammad, the prophet of Islam, was white, and that both he and his son-in-law Ali owned black slaves. Even more strange, Muhammad Ali was originally named after Cassius Marcellus Clay, the nineteenth-century Kentucky abolitionist who helped convince Abraham Lincoln to issue the Emancipation Proclamation. Hence, the greatest heavyweight boxer of all time was deceived by Islam. In this video, David Wood discusses how Muslim preachers took advantage of Ali's ignorance of his own history and of the history of Islam.

Also, when Europeans did take African slaves, they wouldn't even bother with capturing them, they would just go to one of the countless Muslim-run slave markets that already existed in West Africa and buy as many as they needed. Maybe Muhammad Ali should have taken an Igbo name, that being the tribe from which most North American slaves were taken.

ᏇᎥkᎥ 128 Yet until the day of his death he never once regretted believing in Jesus Christ as his savior, the Son of the Living God.
He was faithful unto death, enduring his illness (as the Lord Jesus endured the cross) because he knew of the joy that was awaiting him in heaven.
Nabeel will awake to the resurrection of life, but anyone who does not confess Jesus Christ as Lord nor believes that God (The Father) raised him from the dead will not have life, but will remain condemned because Jesus is the word from which all life come forth and he gives eternal life to whosoever will come unto him.

I asked him why he was reciting something that he doesn't understand. He told me that, he doesn't need to understand. He just needed to know how to recite in order to pray. As an Arab ex Muslim, I must say that in Arab folklore, great men are almost always described as tall and white. As a hero, Mohammed was bound to be described as white. For a person to be described as white (and/or tall) is traditionally considered as a complement by the Arabs ( still so in our time).
Also, in Arabs' minds, "white" is a relative term; they considered me "white" back home but here in Northern Europe they probably describe me as light brown or Middle Eastern. It may not affect a man if he is white or dark but it certainly affects women; its difficult to describe a woman as beautiful if she is not white. Sadly, this culture is agreed upon by Arabs of all skin colours. It is also worth mentioning that children of white and dark skin often exist in the same family just as the finding of tall and short children in the same family.
May I add this incident: The Egyptian president Sadat was a dark person (having been half Sudanese he was darker than average Egyptians ). There was an American film about him that was starred by a black actor. Those who admire Sadat (there are many of them in Egypt) were furious and considered it an insult. The film was banned in Egypt.

Racism in Islam is talked about not nearly enough. Mostly because critique of Islam is often viewed as racism. Pretty crazy.
I hope life in Europe treats you well. And it is a good thing you left Islam. I suppose you are Christian now? Well... keep an open mind! Try to believe as many true things and as few false things as possible. The best way to do so is to ask oneself "Do I have good reason to believe?"
A warning though: that kind of thinking led me away from religion.

ha ha ha ha, a good lie, but who are you trying to fool. Let me use your words .
Quran (2:191-193) - "And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah [disbelief or unrest] is worse than killing... but if they desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah [disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allah] and worship is for Allah alone. But if they cease, let there be no transgression except against Az-Zalimun(the polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.)"
(Translation is from the Noble Quran) The verse prior to this (190) refers to "fighting for the cause of Allah those who fight you" leading some to claim that the entire passage refers to a defensive war in which Muslims are defending their homes and families. The historical context of this passage is not defensive warfare, however, since Muhammad and his Muslims had just relocated to Medina and were not under attack by their Meccan adversaries. In fact, the verses urge offensive warfare, in that Muslims are to drive Meccans out of their own city (which they later did). Verse 190 thus means to fight those who offer resistance to Allah's rule (ie. Muslim conquest).
The use of the word "persecution" by some Muslim translators is disingenuous - the actual Arabic words for persecution (idtihad) - and oppression are not used instead of fitna. Fitna can mean disbelief, or the disorder that results from unbelief or temptation. A strict translation is 'sedition,' meaning rebellion against authority (the authority being Allah). This is certainly what is meant in this context since the violence is explicitly commissioned "until religion is for Allah" - ie. unbelievers desist in their unbelief. [Editor's note: these notes have been modified slightly after a critic misinterpreted our language. Verse 193 plainly says that 'fighting' is sanctioned even if the fitna 'ceases'. This is about religious order, not real persecution.

God didn't have sex, Jesus is eternal, he became flesh as the "image of the invisible God" and because he loved us he gave his life for us. Because of his love we live without fear, and he doesn't lay any heavy burdens on us (eg: eating only certain foods, doing good to earn God's favor, Sabbath Day etc) instead he gives us a new spirit, a spirit of life and freedom and love.

No matter how dangerous and destructive the user finds out it is, he or she will continue to abuse it. It has been both a blessing and a curse to have broken free from religion. I have freed myself from all the guilt, stress and fear associated with it but i have sentenced myself to a very sad and lonely life. The only friends I have are the occasional ones i come across on the internet. People are so starving for company that they will give up everything for it. Adding flying angels and people raising the dead and walking on water only help to provide entertainment and we all know how much us humans love to be entertained.

So I guess 400 is worse than 1200. You rarely find a black American talking about any Arab slavery interesting. I have yet to ever hear of an Arab abolitionist. If you have one please let me know.

@The warriors code The only interest in that context, is that the sub-minority of black people in America can't get anything reparations-wise, from any of the other 'races' that found themselves trading in dark skinned humans. For if there was ANY latitude for that small percentage of blacks in America to come after Arabs, Brits, Portuguese, Dutch or any other 'non-black' peoples for reparations for slavery, it'd be a whole-on thing by now to be sure.
There are two ways to come up in life positive both financially and socially; one is to bust your ass and work hard, and the other is to bust someone else's ass and try to make their hard work bring you benefit.
Funny thing is, if I said just 20% of dark-skinned people in this country ran with the second option, I'd be called 'racist'.

@ByHisCall SO WHEN JESUS CALLS ALL NON JEWS DOGS THAT IS NOT RACIST TO YOU? It was the Church that initially ordered the slavery of Africans many of the Africans who were enslaved were Muslims! Please do bear in mind the Romans were enslaving people of any colour of skin, before they lost their Empire!
In 1457, the Council of Cardinals met in Holland where they sanctioned, as a righteous and progressive idea, the enslavement of Africans for the purpose of their conversion to Christianity and exploitation in the labor market as chattel property. This satanic scheme speedily gained the sanctimonious blessing of the Pope and became a standard policy of the Catholic Church, and later of the Protestant churches, enduring for three centuries: thus the ghastly traffic in human misery was anointed with the oil of pontifical righteousness in Jesus' name.
Pope Nicholas 5th instructed his followers to `attack, subject, and reduce to perpetual slavery the Saracens, Pagans and other enemies of Christ, southward from Cape Bojador and including all the coast of Guinea'.
In fact, most of the Africans who were caught up in the Atlantic slave trade came from West Africa, an area roughly from Senegal River in the north to the Congo River in the South.
But why were West Africans specifically targeted ? Because they were Muslim. To force conversion and to run the rule of the bible.
"If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property. NIV Bible, Exodus 21:20-21)"
Also note there is no specific punishment given, thus a slap on his backside may be enough!

This video dispels this belief and shows that both Islam and Christianity would be religions by people we consider white. But the most crucial question is which religion is true. And we commit the genetic fallacy when we claim that Christianity is false because it comes from a white person. The truth of a belief is not dependent on its origin.

However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way. (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)
If you buy a Hebrew slave, he is to serve for only six years. Set him free in the seventh year, and he will owe you nothing for his freedom. If he was single when he became your slave and then married afterward, only he will go free in the seventh year. But if he was married before he became a slave, then his wife will be freed with him. If his master gave him a wife while he was a slave, and they had sons or daughters, then the man will be free in the seventh year, but his wife and children will still belong to his master. But the slave may plainly declare, ‘I love my master, my wife, and my children. I would rather not go free.’ If he does this, his master must present him before God. Then his master must take him to the door and publicly pierce his ear with an awl. After that, the slave will belong to his master forever. (Exodus 21:2-6 NLT)

I'm a descendant of Cassius Marcellus Clay, the abolitionist the boxer was named after. "Clay" should be a proud name for blacks, because Cassius Marcellus Clay didn't just talk the talk, he put his life on the line for freeing his slaves. The siege of his house by his slave-holding neighbors is an epic part of Kentucky history. The boxer Clay may have been "The Louisville Lip," but he wasn't very bright. He was used by his promoters and the shyster-TV commentator Howard Cosell to line their pockets. Being drafted would have cut into his career in the ring, so they had Clay dodge the draft by becoming a Muslim and claiming that Islam is a pacifist religion, like the Quakers. Well, back then, what did we know about Muslims, right? Yes, "Muhammed Ali" was a great boxer, but beyond that he was a stooge and, to this day, a media-created phony. And the media will pander to their black audiences by ensuring that the phony image is the one that's perpetuated..

Out of the more than three quarters of a million words in the Bible, Christian slaveholder and if asked, most slaveholders would have defined themselves as Christians had two favorites texts from the Bible one from the beginning of the Old Testament and the other from the end of the New Testament. Christians perspectives on Slavery were formed in the contexts of Christianity's roots in Judaism, and they were also shaped by the wider culture of the Roman Empire. Both the Old and New Testaments recognize the existence of the institution of slavery. In the words of the King James Bible, which was the version then current, these were, first, Genesis 18:27 "And the sons of Noah that went forth from the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan. These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole world overspread. And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard: and he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent. And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without. And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father’s nakedness. And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him. And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren. And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant. God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant. And Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years."
Genesis 9:25-27, the Curse of Ham, says: "Cursed be Canaan! The lowest of slaves will he be to his brothers. He also said, 'Blessed be the Lord, the God of Shem! May Canaan be the slave of Shem."
This verse has been used to justify racialized Slavery since Christians identified Ham's descendents as black Africans. Anthony Pagden argued that "This reading of the Book of Genesis merged easily into a medieval iconographic tradition in which devils were always depicted as black.
The other favorite came from Paul’s Epistle to the Ephesians, 5-7: "Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; not with eye-service, as men-pleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; with good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free." (Paul repeated himself, almost Word for Word, in the third chapter of his Epistle to the Colossians.) Tradition describes Pope Pius I (term c. 158-167) and Pope Callixtus I (term c. 217-222) as former slaves.
Nearly all Christian leaders before the late 15th century recognised the institution of slavery, within specific Biblical limitations, as being consistent with Christian theology, In 1452, Pope Nicholas V instituted the hereditary slavery of captured Muslims and pagans, regarding all non-Christians as "enemies of Christ."
The rest of the Old Testament was often mined by pro-slavery polemicists for examples proving that slavery was common among the Israelites. The New Testament was largely ignored, except in the negative sense of pointing out that nowhere did Jesus condemn slavery, although the story of Philemon, the runaway who St. Paul returned to his master, was often quoted. It was also generally accepted that the Latin word Servus, usually translated as Servant, really meant Slave. A series of fifteenth century popes argued for the enslavement of non Christians as "an instrument for Christian conversion." According to church law, Christians were protected from slavery, but Muslim "infidels" and non-Christian "pagans" were acceptable to enslave while Jewish populations living in Christian dominated Western Europe were protected from slavery in the Middle Ages, widespread anti Semitic prejudices amongst European Christians led to Jewish persecution, exile, violent massacres, and even accusations of causing the Black Death.
In the New World, the criteria for enslavement increasingly shifted from non-Christian to non-European. As Europeans began emphasizing religious, racial, and ethnic differences between themselves and American Indians and Africans, this boundary moved further, from non-European to non-"white," particularly to enable the enslavement of "black" Africans and their African American descendants.
European Christians initially saw non Christians as "natural slaves." With New World expansion however Europeans came to primarily associate Africans with the institution of slavery. To explain this racial shift from a Judeo-Christian worldview, sixteenth and seventeenth century theologians merged Aristotle's theory of “natural slaves" with the biblical Curse of Ham. According to this interpretation, Africans are the descendants of Ham and Canaan, who Noah cursed into slavery for Ham's transgressions (Ham is Noah's son and Canaan's father). Though the Bible does not mention race or skin color in this narrative according to these sixteenth and seventeenth century theologians, Africans inherited Ham and Canaan's curse of slavery. By the nineteenth century PRO-SLAVERY advocates in the US continued to use this Biblical Justification as well as Aristotle's theory of natural order and New World racial prejudices to defend their support of SLAVERY.

Mikias Yohannes: He's not saying anything new that hasn't been said already. Actually he's rather late on the subject. We figured Islam out back in the 80s. Muhammad Ali wasn't able to separate Black Nationalism from that fake religion called Islam. His first exposure to that false religion was the NOI. They conveniently left out the fact that Islam was created, founded and established by a racist pedophile who hated Blacks. Those Blacks who were Muslims back then were forced to be so. Today those Blacks who call themselves Muslims do so out of stupidity, tradition, and laziness. Muslims from the very beginning have had nothing but contempt for Black skin people and recent events in Libya proves me correct.

It's surely a good example of being duped. Honestly, though, I don't see how so many Black men have been convinced that this is the path to liberation. The main group in Islam doesn't like Black people.
I was once involved with a Middle Eastern woman, and she once slipped into our conversation how we Blacks are mostly Christian because of slavery. She said this in a way to iimply that Islam was race neutral and better for Blacks than Christianity. She's clearly wrong. Her family and many other Middle Eastern ones (Muslims) are quite prejudiced against Blacks.

David RTD--Arabs aren't blamed for slavery the white people are because white people do mosst of the writing about history. Further, there were an awful lot of white people who, reading the Bible, grew very repentant about the sin of slavery. The original Cassius Marcellus Clay is an example.
Yes, there's slavery in the Bible, but it wasn't racial, and often a status that was temporary. Read the books of Moses and Philemon.
