I learned that: 1. When eye is donated, the whole eye is not removed or transplated. Also 2 eyes from the same person can be used for transplate of 4 people as eye/cornea has layers. Cornea is made up of 6 layers in total. 3 top layers and 3 bottom layers. 2. Applying kajal is ok but it shouldn't be done on the internal part of the eye as it can block our precious glands. 3. Taking breaks is important. Taking break after viewing screen for 20 min and looking at a distance for 20 sec. is good. 4.going Outdoors is important since being indoor or viewing too much of screens can strain your eyes. 5. Till the age of 18 the no. Of your eyes would increase if you'd myopia that was because the way the glasses were manunfactured. It is now changing. 6.Blinking is important if you're engaged with viewing of screen for a long time. The blink rate reduces less to 5 blinks as opposed to 50 blinks when we are constantly looking at the screen. 7.Rubbing your eyes is not good and should be avoided. 8.Eye is an extension of brain as it has optic nerve and it is precious for us. We should take care of our eyes like our baby. 9.Leafy vegetables, nuts, seeds are good for eyes and overall health not just carrots. 10. Reducing screen or blue light exposure after 6 pm. And using overall blue light filters.
@drasheye, Doctor, why power comes back after LASIK surgery? Checking my retina health every year and it's healthy. Still the doctors that I go to doesn't know why I got the power back :( Any leads?
Hi Dr Pal it's really being a pleasure to see u bring such informative content for us specifically being a optometry student Please bring a episode only about orthoptics and squint.
Each of your podcasts are worthy. You have proved that it's very important to have an educated host, which sets your videos apart from most other channels.
what I learnt 1) eye strain is big issue which leads to all sorts of issues like dry eyes which can be very dangerous 2) therefore we need to protect our eyes by following the 20 20 20 rule 3) blue light filters on eyes are not that powerful . need to buy physical filters that I can add to my devices to protect the circadian rhythm 4) live a healthy lifeystle
Everyone should see this video in full and several times. Plenty to learn. I consider this as the best video I have seen in utube on eyes. Thanks to both doctors.
As a normal home maker Through your videos I learnt early dinner fiber protein limited carbs everything.iam following your rules of daily veggies one fruit protein but what should we eat daily for normal weight person means three meal how it should be please one video sir
Very informative and cleared a lot of myths. I'm going to practice after 8pm no screen time and keep my phone and laptop in night mode. Many thanks for bringing up a beautiful discussion.
Very good session...that too..very selective and good choice of questions...very thoughtful when a doctor interviews specialist...good choice of questions are being discussed...

I learnt the following: 1. About what myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism are 2. How dryness of eyes causes vision issues, to blink often, stop screen time after 8 pm, incorporate close to 100% blue light filters on phone, computer, TV screens 3. To avoid kajal or at least not apply it on the inner eye margin 4. 20-20-20 rule of every 20 minutes looking 20 feet away for 20 seconds 5. Balanced and healthy eating of whole grains, nuts, fruits, veggies, Omega 3 fatty acids are good (they are the majic foods for most physical or mental health issue for that matter!) 6. Foods rich in Vitamin A like leafy greens, carrots etc are good 7. Listen to audio rather than watching video whenever possible! 8. About Smile which is more latest than Lasik 9. Issues with using contact lenses Thanks to both the doctors!❤
