If the management just gave Lebron one more good player, didn't even need to be an all star, someone comparable to a CJ McCollum today and he would have won a championship between 07-10.

    For all those old heads who say the modern generation wouldnt last in 90s generation. Let this montage be a prime example of how modern NBA players are just in a whole other league compared to the players of the past. Lebron single handedly took down the Pistons who are very much the embodiment of 80s and 90s basketball... They play with a very traditional style of basketball with coach Larry Brown meaning they didn't shoot a lot of 3s, they play physical/ hard nose basketball, and have very traditional roles. Ben Wallace - Physically imposing, and regarded as the best defensive center in NBA history, Rasheed Wallace - Hard nose, archetype stretch 4 with a post game, Rip Hamilton - One of the top most consistent and dependable mid range shooter in NBA history, - Tayshaun Prince - Swiss army knife top tier wing defender and slasher, Chauncy Billups- traditional point guard who can also score and is an efficient 3pt shooter ahead of its time. I say all this because Lebron faced and beat a team that comprised of the ideal 80/90s basketball archetype basketball and obliterated them like they were a JV squad. This isn't even prime Lebron, this is Lebron post 4 years out of HS with no jumper and no real supporting cast. My purpose is to not shit on old generations but to have them understand that each new generation of players become better because they adapt and improve upon the past. Just because Lebron, KD, and Steph are in another class of their own, doesn't mean it tarnishes the stars of yester years like Magic, Kareem, and Bird. Old stars still get their respect for being trail blazers and being the stars in their own right for their respective era.

      Well this video is from 2007, a totally different era from todays league. 2000-2009 still had some 90’s residue on it, so to speak. Teams back then still played with passion, pride and didn’t team hop after a loss. The lebron we see here is cut from that cloth. He changed after his “Decision”. He was NOT the same beast we witnessed for the first 7 years of his career. But even so, I hate cross era comparisons because they’re pointless. Would 2016 Steph be just as dominant in 1996? Possibly. He’s quicker, more nimble with unlimited range.. that’d be tough to guard. Would 1991 Micheal Jordan be just as dominant in 2021? Possibly. He was a scoring machine against top tier ranked defenses, imagine what he would do in what some call “the weakest era in NBA history.” It’s a bunch of possibilities but since it’ll never happen, what’s the point in talking about it?

      @@alexyou3233 Lol no he don't. Regular season LeBron is 27-7-7 and post season LeBron is 29-9-7. He don't even crack 30 in the playoffs in this soft era so quit it. Also just cause you don't average 35 it doesn't make you a bum. LeBron has benefitted from playing in an era of spacing and no hand checking. Scoring was tougher and more physical back then because there wasn't an emphasis on the 3 like today. It's not a knock cause LeBron great I'm just stating the obvious. LeBron would probably average then what he does now 25-30 a game but his shot selection would be different. But the beating he'd be taking cause he'd be driving constantly due to his lack of a real post game or mid range would hinder scoring a bit. He ain't like Jordan that can legit take 20 jumpers and be around 50 percent LeBron efficiency lies in his ability to get downhill and be a freight train in the lane but he's not doing that much in the 90s getting tagged every time he does.

    This is the best instance to prove why Lebron James is the best player in the history of the NBA.
    Michael Jordan took advantage of the man to man illegal defensive era. See how pistons always had help defenders and zone on Lebron and they still couldn’t stop him. Lebron would average just as many points as Jordan would with double digit assists if he played in the 90s. Based on the fact you had to always commit to the defender, you cannot shadow the paint and then also guard the corner 3. That’s why it’s basically required to have a stretch 4 now in the nba, to beat the zone defense. Lebron faster, stronger, better handles, can jump higher(Lebron’s wing span is longer than Jordan’s by a lot) and better passing than Jordan would have dominated the 90s more than MJ. Lebron in 90s would just outmuscle or outquick any defender, no one man can guard him. Malone and Barkley too slow, Grant hill and Clyde Drexler too small. And then when he’s at the rim he’s jumping higher and bigger and stronger than half of the centers. The centers in the 90s were like 6’10” 6’11”(true heights) and 250lbs. Lebron James 6’7”(true height without shoes) is 250lbs. Simple physics says you have equal weight one one object moving much faster, that object would just move that slow moving object away. Lebron is the true best player in nba history, don’t listen to Jordan sheep. I was a Jordan fan growing up myself, but I saw the light maybe 7 years ago. If you actually know the game of basketball you would see Lebron is just the better player. He can take a bunch of random players further than anybody else.
    Also I didn’t even bring up the league had less skilled players. Lots of white American born players, that basically barely existed in the 2000s on ward. And finally hand checking was outlawed in 1979, so please don’t let those sheep basketball idiots tell you that myth.

      @@joshuawilliams7653 Nah Prince was a great defender and arguably the best wing/perimeter in the mid to late 2000s. Long arms, moving his feet quick and bothering your shots while not committing silly fouls. That's the only reason why he was on the Redeem Team. He shut down pre-injury 32.1ppg T-mac in 03 first round and made Kobe look like a high school player in 04 finals. The Pistons were still one of the best defensive team even without Ben Wallace otherwise how could they be in the East Finals lol. Because of Prince, Billups and other great role players the Pistons had one of the most horrifying perimeter defense. Just watch the very first assist by LeBron he got triple teamed early in the first quarter smh.

      @@hochan5830 There's a difference between good and great. I have a hard time calling a guy a great defender when he never made a defensive 1st team but Tayshaun was really good and presented problems to guys no doubt. And I never said the Pistons weren't a good defense still after losing Wallace but that game 5 LeBron was able to do whatever he wanted, in particular get inside once he got past Prince and Billups because Wallace wasn't there. You don't lose a 4 time DPOY in the tail end of his prime and you're still the same level defense. Good as they were, there was still a drop off without Wallace and that's a big reason the Cavs pulled off the series win.

    • @kaydee3334
      @kaydee3334 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joshuawilliams7653 man i guess if detroit really wanted wallace to stay they shouldve offered more money. Pistons won the 2006 series not because of ben but because on the cavs team only lebron and Z had actually averaged double digits in scoring while pistons had 4 players averaging double digits. however, in 2007 cavs acquired gibson who helped them offensively that is why bron averaged 2 more assists per game compared to the 06 series.
      I mean sheed did a better job protecting the rim in 07 compared to ben in 06. To be frank 07 pistons were better defensively than the 06 pistons with ben against the cavs, but 06 were better at rebounding averaging 2 more rebounds than 07. And that bulls with ben in 07? yeah they got 4-2 by this same detroit squad. So just stop with this nonsense, i know its embarrassing and it hurts for a contending team with almost all of them at their prime to be beaten by a 22 year old kid with a 20 year old rookie, a 31 year old slow center and a bunch of nobodies.
