    So no-gi jiujitsu is really just diluted submission catch wrestling. Sad what three Gracie brothers did to Lute Livre Catch Wrestler Rufino Dos Santos using a pipe and three on one because Rufino had beaten Carlos Gracie in a grappling match. Gracies have a long history of losing to Catch Wrestling trained grapplers: Dos Santos, Kimura, Sakuraba, all trained in Catch Wrestling, all defeated the Gracies using Catch Wrestling Submissions.

    Catch wrestling is a British martial art.
    It was very popular amongst miners from the collieries in the 19th century.
    That's where the term " No Holds Barred " comes from.
    Catch wrestling uses holds and chokes that are illegal in JJ.
    Great video, thanks for your time and dedication it takes to make your videos. 💥

    $300 a week is the equivalent of almost $10,000 a week in 2021! And that “2500” bet Burns won, is equal to almost $70,000 in today’s money!
    Farmer Burns was a a baller in his day! 🤑💰

    There's a few things in here I didn't know. Great info. What I REALLY want to know is who trained Farmer Burns in wrestling and submissions? Did he learn subs competing against others or did he have mentors who taught him the art of hooking and helped him refine his wrestling? in essence, what's his catch lineage?

    • @DIDOS
      @DIDOS  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's a very good question. I was just thinking about that yesterday. Burns was an Irish-American. His father was a Wrestler, which assuming it was the same style of Catch As Catch Can, the most likely explanation is it was passed down from his Grandfather who was also a renown wrestler from the old Motherland in the 1700's. I just started making videos again, your support will be appreciated.

    Farmer Burns is a name that should be known both to Catch Wrestling, as well as Pro Wrestling enthusiasts.
    His name is legendary for both parties. Frank Gotch, his student, and George Hackenschmidt created what is widely considered to be the first major pro wrestling match feud (single matches taken out of course).
    Thanks for your life and work, Mr. Burns!
