நீங்கள் எப்போது புறப்படுகிறீர்கள்? When are you leaving? நான் இன்று மாலை கிளம்புகிறேன். I am leaving this evening. Sir, why did you use "present continuous tense" here? Don't we use "simple present tense" here? For example: 1. When do you leave? 2. I leave this evening. Kindly please reply me sir.
Simple present is used to talk about things in general, things that happens all the time or repeatedly. It can't be used to talk about future events except time table. On the other hand, present continuous can be used to talk about things that we have already decided to do in the future. Even though the action will take place in the future, we use present continuous because we have already planned to it. For example, I am asking "when are you leaving" knowing that the person has already decided the time he would leave.
I got it sir. You have explained clearly. Thank you sir. I have one more doubt.👇 It can't be used to talk about future events except time table. In this statement, What does the "time table" refer to? Could you please explain me in tamil? Thank you sir.
