The song sound so promising: It's been more than 20 years and they still create great music and lyrics. I look forward to getting the 2009 album.
I wonder how the album version of that track is.
Morten Harket is one of the best vocalists in the business. I can't believe America still thinks of this band as the guys that recorded "Take on me" (I didn't even like that song much). I feel A-Ha truly only blossomed when they reunited in 2000 with their hit single "Summer moved on". Since then, they have only gotten better and better. Brilliant track. Absolutely love "Shadowside".

I don't distinguish A-ha's quality regarding their "guitar" or "synthetizer" style. Just give me A-ha music and I'll love it like no other. They are perfect in everything they do! :)

All tracks on "Foot of the Mountain" are written by Pål Waaktaar-Savoy/Magne Furuholmen. Shadowside is written by Pål alone (words and music). So are "Nothing is keeping you here", "Mother nature goes to heaven" and "Start the simulator" :)
I do really like this version, yes i do like the 80's stuff but i do like analogue and think it's one of their best album's but this version makes them sound unnerved, which is probably because it's one of the first performances of that song.

Someone please upload video of where aha came out as the group and played "Train of thought" up until then the concert was a litle slow but oh boy did the mood change when they was the group !, just for the people that wernt there they went of after this song then came back and played "Take on me"
I think my response has something to do with the fact that I am not an "80s A-Ha" fan. I liked the guitar-based A-Ha as opposed to synthesizer-based A-Ha. I am sure people that liked the 80s A-Ha totally love the album version of Shadowside since it is very reminiscent of that period. I guess I prefer this version since it veers closer to their newer stuff. I still hope they do a single version of the song and hopefully it sounds like this - because I really do like this song.

I just heard the whole album and this version is WAY BETTER than the album version. I hope they release a "single" version of this song and I hope it mirrors this version.
