I did that once n it did kill alot (show by the hornet mixed foam part i pulled off) but the whole tree was virbratjng for hours n eventually they had chew 2 new holes thru the tree and were back in business, like 8 hours later so then i fillled it with hornet spray
Tell Jamie on his tailgate that there is rods inside the tailgate need to take handle out then pull rods out and lube the latches and handle then straighten the rods and put back in you will be happy you did that. It is repairable problem.
Try filling the opening in the tree with spray foam. I’d check with an arborist first. If it’s safe for the tree you can paint the foam black/ grey to match the tree and carve the foam to match the texture. Hope you’ve solved the problem or this might help. Keep up the good content and best wishes for you and your family.
Yup, like others have said, spray them at night so you can catch them all during their down time. I had a similar issue with a yellow jacket nest in a trash can last year, tipped it over and waited until midnight. Sprayed the crap out of it with the same spray you started with and the next day they were gone.
I'm sure others will mention this but spray the wasps in early morning or late at night.... otherwise there are too many out and about, and they won't get in the spray
When that happens to the tailgate on the pickup I use, I have found that one or both of the latches on the side get jammed. Hitting the tailgate on the sides to force it all the way shut usually unjams the latches on the side so the handle in the center can pull the latches open like it is suppose to.
Thanks for the laughs Jay. Sorry that you guys have had some bad weather but very glad your all safe. Try to fill that tree hole in so they won't come back.
Rule one. Always do it in the early morning Jay. As a last resort, fill that hole with expanding foam, the green stuff that has an insecticide mixed in it.
I always use my small dust collector and 4" flexible hose and prop it as close to the entrance as possible and just turn it on and let it run all day. As soon as they fly it sucks them in.
Great video Jay OMG the wife and I got a good laugh at your bee problem. We have the same here in middle Tennessee st our house. We have them in our attic 😡😡. My wife bought a full bee suit and it was great to have. Love the use of 🔥🔥if they come back. Suggestion try filling the tree with expansion foam. Good luck my friend
Hey Jay, I live in Spain and constantly deal with ants. They are way more active during the day. At night, they all return to their nest and it's the best time to kill them. Maybe wasps are the same?? Attack that nest at night! Most should have already returned.
I don't approve of killing things for fun, but I have no problem doing so for food and for safety. You gotta prioritize the safety of you and your family, so I wouldn't feel bad about that at all. Glad it worked out in the end!
I remember when i was a kid i stepped on a yellow jacket nest and got stung a bunch of times. My grandfather just walked out there with a can of gas, poured it down the hole and torched them.
Hope everyone is doing good and safe. Spray liquid sevin on it and give it a few days for them to carry it into the nest to kill the bees and queen. Glad you didn't burn the tree down, lol stay well.
I agree with not killing animals if you can manage it, but sometimes you really don't have any other choice. It's not like you can just relocate or scare away wasps. And those were very close to your house.
Hey Jaynyou are all right mate it least we get a laugh out of it ,,,Love your sense of hummor. ….Hey mate you make working with Perkins bros joyfull …Go to work get a laugh how good is that be safe lade God is watching you good crew can’t go wrong ❤️❤️🙏🙏🧌🥲🦘🇦🇺🫶
Jay back in my day we used a can of Aqua net and a match I've had to throw the can a few times they will explode 😊 running from the damn flying bastards and the can now it's funny as hell but it wasn't then it's good for your heart
Hi Jay, another awesome video as always buddy, all the best from Thailand 🇹🇭 🙏🙏🙏🙏 also Jay would it be better to fill the hole in the tree with PU expanding foam so they never come back to that tree? Just an idea bud. Stay safe
Tell Jamie he's going to have to repair the linkage brackets inside the tailgate which means he's going to have to get the tailgate down take it apart and put in new plastic clips and such and lube it real good and then you won't have this problem Chevrolets are known for this problem I suggest you get genuine Chevrolet Clips not any doorman aftermarket get Chevrolet clipsp
J those beers are what they call an Asian hornet there’s also another one they are a member of the hornet family. They are invasive they’ve come from the West Coast I had one on the inside of my screen at my house about the size of my little finger and that’s no exaggeration. There’s nothing to fool with I can’t imagine the size of the stinger and what it would feel like to get hit by one of them. The Cooperative Extension Oriskany NY state said they have not entered our area but there is another version of the Asian on it but it looks just as mean
Asian Giant Hornets are not known to exist in the US. They were found in the north west US and south west Canada in 2019, but were deemed to be eradicated a few years ago with no confirmed sightings in 2023 or 2024. If you have any close up footage of them, you should definitely try to identify exactly what they are (were). Asian Giant Hornets are definitely not endemic to the US, so if that's what they really were you should report this to the USDA APHIS (Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service).
I have read this before but I have to state that in 2011 I thought a hummingbird was near me while cleaning a pool…. I looked to my left and saw what I believe without any doubt was a giant Asian hornet. Mutant size.
If you have normal wasps or yellow jackets, I have not found anything better than Enforcer. I get it at my local co-op store. You can walk up to the nest and spray and they drop instantly. I have tried 20 other brands and nothing beats this. I got through several cans a year getting yellow jackets and guinea wasps out of my yard. It will not touch hornets or bumble bees or carpenter bees. Not sure why. What you were dealing with I consider a hornet. Good job on setting something else on fire. lol
As others have already said but I will say it again here just incase it was missed: Any bee situation at a home is easier done at night. The reason is because they are a lot more dormant at night and it would take them a while to "wake up" and figure out what's going on. Also it's because all of the bees in that nest will be in there. During the day the colony sends out workers back and forth which is why after you sprayed it you still saw some flying around. They were coming back to the nest to try and get back in but couldn't because of the chemicals. Burning them is obviously better than the spray ( and cooler lol) but if you dumped a can of spray or two into there and came back the next couple of days you might have also noticed that they were gone. And to be fair...the only bees worth sparing in this world are honey bees and bumble bees. Wasps can go right to hell and die.
Say hey, Jay! You're braver than I am up on that scaffolding on the second story of the world 🌍 Actually when it comes down to it, I'm not scared of heights, I'm scared of widths 😮
Uh - 'spray some spray' on the giant hornet nest is a really weird advice a county would give. On a side note, there are some videos from Japanese beekeepers that showcase how they trap those insects on a mouse trap (cardboard coated with gel glue). And if I remember correctly, if one of them is harmed or killed, they release pheromones that's basically an equivalent of "come and help me" beacon. So they basically trap one by hand, and then squish it to lure other into the glue. It's one way to protect the bee hives, but how in the world to remove their nest ?
Ahhh,.. Jay, that tree is not healthy. Take a giant step back, and look at it. Bloated trunk , with spindly branches, cut it down before it takes someone out?

lol!!
Spray wasp nests at night when everyone is in the nest.
I was thinking that too because ants are the same. You beat me too it. Lol
Fuck that spray foam then at day so when they all come home they get stuck
Tell Jamie on his tailgate that there is rods inside the tailgate need to take handle out then pull rods out and lube the latches and handle then straighten the rods and put back in you will be happy you did that. It is repairable problem.
This plus small plastic clips I have had to replace 3 times.

That Bluetti looks like a winner.
The thing is actually awesome! Super powerful and easy to get around. I actually put it in the back of my truck to help charge my batteries.
Jay, that is one way to do it with the wasps!! Thank you for the very entertaining video! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching!
Hey Jay and Steph, Bob and Nana, and your gorgeous kids ❤ hope you guys are ok and your friends and family in Florida ❤
“Bees! They’re Everywhere! Your Firearms Are Useless Against Them! Tommy boy. Great video Jay.

Omg it worked. Best movie ever!!!
Fill the hole up with insulating foam to prevent wasps from getting back into the tree hole later.
Yup, like others have said, spray them at night so you can catch them all during their down time. I had a similar issue with a yellow jacket nest in a trash can last year, tipped it over and waited until midnight. Sprayed the crap out of it with the same spray you started with and the next day they were gone.
Jay, it’s up to you to keep these guys inline
It was so nice to see Max! I miss him on the Perkins Brothers page.
I'm sure others will mention this but spray the wasps in early morning or late at night.... otherwise there are too many out and about, and they won't get in the spray

The Beekeeper II staring Jay! 🐝🤣
Thanks for the laughs Jay. Sorry that you guys have had some bad weather but very glad your all safe. Try to fill that tree hole in so they won't come back.

Didn’t know they had that. Will look into it.
😂all these wasp experts out there and I’m still enjoying pink crocs and Ray wondering where the heck you’re at😂
Jay's just about got a joke or comeback for any situation 😂😂😂
I always use my small dust collector and 4" flexible hose and prop it as close to the entrance as possible and just turn it on and let it run all day. As soon as they fly it sucks them in.
Ending was awesome!!
Just use spray adhesive for bees. It's non toxic and works like a charm. Plus it's much more fun.
Thanks Jay great entertainment it was fun.

Lot a good suggestions I didn’t know about! Thanks Boys!😂
I knew it 😂😂😂 jay was hoping to bring out the " FIRE " 😂😂😂
Lol
Spray very early in the morning when it’s cool outside. All the bees will be in the nest. 3:00-4:00 in the morning.
Hey Jay, I live in Spain and constantly deal with ants. They are way more active during the day. At night, they all return to their nest and it's the best time to kill them. Maybe wasps are the same?? Attack that nest at night! Most should have already returned.
Jay makes my day!
Awesome thanks
That view is crazy
Fill the tree cavity with spray foam!
I don't approve of killing things for fun, but I have no problem doing so for food and for safety. You gotta prioritize the safety of you and your family, so I wouldn't feel bad about that at all. Glad it worked out in the end!
and indeed, did it RAIN!
may God bless you and your family many times this day
@0:23 "I am trying to make it rain today" Well that didn't work out as Eric hoped it would.
Great video , Jay 👍
didn’t know you had merch!!!! i got a couple perkins & i’m definitely buying a couple of yours this friday!! keep on buildin’!
Awesome! Thank you!
Hey Jay, add Bee Keeper to your growing list on your resume!
I hope you already know this but... You should spray the hornets either early morning or late in the evening.
Those wasps really are like small birds. I don't like killing things either but sometimes ya' gotta. The tree looks pretty cool charred, anyway.
In Australia wanked/wank/wanker mean something completely different to how you’re using it. So I laughed a lot when you were talking about that board.
Same in the UK bud
What does it mean in australia?
It’s another way of calling someone a dickhead but inferring self gratification.
If someone calls you a wanker it is not a good thing.
@@christinewatt6620 what if it's a nick? “Hey wanker!”, like a callsign
🤣🤣 the zip taped gloves dude! Not taking any chances!
Nope
Hey Jay, fill up the hole with sprayfoam
Use a shop vac with water and a bit of soap. Use a long pvc pipe and watch them fly to the swimming pool.
Mmmmm
I’m surprised you didn’t just zip tape the tree 😂
Fill the tree hole with sprayfoam !!
We drowned them with the hose. Pressure washer. Only found out they were there until I got stung. Good luck getting rid of them
Fill the hole with expanding foam
Jay, you should fill the hole with spray foam
If you cut down the tree, you can plant another one to replace it.
Yall building a boat with that wood
can you add great stuff foam to plug the tree?
Bro, use a solution of water and dawn soap, must be Dawn brand, to kill wasp and yellow jackets.
I remember when i was a kid i stepped on a yellow jacket nest and got stung a bunch of times. My grandfather just walked out there with a can of gas, poured it down the hole and torched them.
Awesome!
Yikes! Those wasps were enourmous!
Maybe fill up the hole with something to prevent any other wasps of getting in there and make new nests?
Hope everyone is doing good and safe. Spray liquid sevin on it and give it a few days for them to carry it into the nest to kill the bees and queen. Glad you didn't burn the tree down, lol stay well.
Fill the hive with greatstuff foam
Spray in the morning
not the PINK crocs LOL

Gallon of gas is cheaper than a can of spray.Put it in your sprayer and it will take care of them.
Jay back in my day we used a can of Aqua net and a match I've had to throw the can a few times they will explode 😊 running from the damn flying bastards and the can now it's funny as hell but it wasn't then it's good for your heart
Ha ha
What about some spray foam to seal up the hole?
Hi Jay, another awesome video as always buddy, all the best from Thailand 🇹🇭 🙏🙏🙏🙏 also Jay would it be better to fill the hole in the tree with PU expanding foam so they never come back to that tree? Just an idea bud. Stay safe
Not sure! It’s been a few months and they have not returned yet.
But did you roll the zip-taped gloves?
Yep

Can the holes in the tree be filled with a type of spray foam to prevent return? Not sure if it will harm the tree.
Not sure? But it’s been a couple months now and have not seen them return yet. Fingers crossed.
fill the hole in the tree with something..spray foam, lexcel or zip tape😊

That’s a maple? Trunk looks almost like a redbud.
Spray foam 🎉
Fill up the wasp nest hole(s) with spray foam so they can't come back
when the dust control system get installed?! I must have dozed off....
Back when I did the new shop series.
Back when I did the new shop series.
You are supposed to spray late at night or early morning when the wasps are at rest on the nest, not during the day when they are active.
These things were always active! They never slept
You've gotta get the Perkins brothers to mess it up 😭, Jamie is the answer 😭
You should have put a glass pan lid in that hoodie to protect the money maker
So is that job site still standing after the catastrophe out that way? Hope all the crew and families are well.
Yes, the job site was unscathed. All the damage was like 40 minutes away from us near Asheville. Total devastation.
what would happens if you spay with expensive foam (polyurethane foam ) to seal them inside
Not sure. There was so many of them, though! Had to get rid of them.

YES! Spray foam and a little brown / gray paint and seal the hole.
Those hornets need a video of their own. People are searching how to get rid of those.
Spray glue seems to work
