I was never much of a Meatloaf fan and then a friend had an extra ticket and didn't want to go to his concert alone, so I went. OMG, he put on the best show! I have been to a number of concerts from the east coast to the west. Yes probably has the best light show but over all show? Meatloaf. I was floored. Caught me totally off guard because I didn't expect it. He is an Opera fan so he likes elaborate stage shows and he put on about a 3 hour show just during the week on a nothing special day. It ended up being the best concert I had ever been to even surpassing my favorite bands.

Together Meat Loaf and Patti Russo are Legend. Check out their performance of I'd Lie For You. It's another song that sings to the soul. I got hooked on Meat Loaf's voice first. Then when I finally saw him I fell in love and I love him to this day. He got me through some rough times. Glad to see reactions from younger people are still high.

I really love Meatloaf and remember when this was number 1 in the charts across the world,it was when I was a lot lot younger lol. PLEASE do two outta three ain't bad. It is so so sad that he can't sing anymore due to ill health,he has an extremely bad back among other things and it hurts him to sing the way he used to, I guess it is because it causes the muscles to spasm,if you try to really belt out one of his songs you will fell it in your back with the deep breathing and tensing to belt out the words.

Meatloaf is a great performer but the main focus of his music was to see how far they could push studio recording (for that time). They added effects to various sounds and instruments that had never been tried before. An example of this was the motorcycle sounds at the beginning of the studio version of "I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)"

I've seen Meat live in concert twice; the first was at the StoryTellers concert which had audience participation. I was on stage with him for the opening dialogue part of "You Took the Words Right Out of my Mouth." Great fun, to say the least! Something that I've admired about him and that is unusual in the rock musician's world is that he's been married to the same woman since I think the 70's.
I like how you just jump right in. You can't really do anything to hype the song. It is what it is. Any kind of hype or lead-in just wouldn't be enough, and I like that you recognize that. The song speaks for itself. If you like this song, I recommend "Close My Eyes Forever", which is a duet sung by Ozzy Osborn and Lita Ford. Two rock/metal legends.

You're thinking of Lorraine Crosby - she laid down test vocals which were eventually used and she never received a penny. They used a model in the music video. This is Patti Russo who sang with Meat Loaf for 20 years; definitely not lip syncing. An incredible singer in her own right.

So he (rather) recently released another recording of this song on his new(ish) album Braver Than We Are. I suggest you give it a listen, it's a much more subdued instrumentation. Look for the album with the orange cover for it.
Meat and Freddie Mercury/Queen are similar in several respects - both look/ed different than the average rock star, both were told a specific song was too long and to cut it ("Paradise by the Dashboard Lights" and "Bohemian Rhapsody") - neither did; and both perform "rock opera" type music. Ironically, he and Freddie were contemporaries - Meat is 71 and Freddie would have been 72. I wonder if they ever crossed paths.

I was on stage with him for the opening dialogue part of "You Took the Words Right Out of my Mouth." Great fun, to say the least! Something that I've admired about him and that is unusual in the rock musician's world is that he's been married to the same woman since I think the 70's.

I like how you just jump right in. You can't really do anything to hype the song. It is what it is. Any kind of hype or lead-in just wouldn't be enough, and I like that you recognize that. The song speaks for itself.
If you like this song, I recommend "Close My Eyes Forever", which is a duet sung by Ozzy Osborn and Lita Ford. Two rock/metal legends.

You're thinking of Lorraine Crosby - she laid down test vocals which were eventually used and she never received a penny. They used a model in the music video.
This is Patti Russo who sang with Meat Loaf for 20 years; definitely not lip syncing. An incredible singer in her own right.

So he (rather) recently released another recording of this song on his new(ish) album Braver Than We Are. I suggest you give it a listen, it's a much more subdued instrumentation. Look for the album with the orange cover for it.

Meat and Freddie Mercury/Queen are similar in several respects - both look/ed different than the average rock star, both were told a specific song was too long and to cut it ("Paradise by the Dashboard Lights" and "Bohemian Rhapsody") - neither did; and both perform "rock opera" type music. Ironically, he and Freddie were contemporaries - Meat is 71 and Freddie would have been 72. I wonder if they ever crossed paths.
