I love how Lucius has got this whole story arc in episode 5 where he is a hero for championing his own right to enjoy sex. Slut-shaming doesn't even WORK on this ship.
Them doing the literal Nigerian Prince e-mail scam to the rich people is legit one of the funniest bits in the show.

The literal pyramid scheme might be the funniest thing I’ve ever seen on TV.
Isn't it funny, Stede hates violence but nonchalantly causes a ship of people who disrespected Blackbeard to burn and kill everyone. He had to make sure Blackbeard was protected.
Get yourself a man who will defend your honor... with passive aggression!
Stede caused a shipful of obnoxious aristocrats to set their own ship on fire and kill each other because they made fun of his boyfriend.

the moonlight scene is one of my favourite scenes in the show, especially the line "you wear fine things well". SOOO glad ya'll got to this episode during pride month.
I love how the queerness of the show is there from the very beginning but then this episode hits you right over the head with it. The first time I watched it and saw Lucius and Black Pete in the kitchen, I yelled at my TV, "Wait, are they having sex?!" because I somehow hadn't expected the show to go there even though I had read headlines that said it was the queer show we deserved.
con o'neill is a legend for improvising that "ooh, daddy" scene. he's a hero for that, in fact
When Taika Waititi appeared as Blackbeard I said to my husband,"Taika Waititi is a beautiful human being" and my (straight) husband said,"Yeah. He is."
I'm crying your reaction at the "oh daddy" part was so relatable LMFAO that scene haunts my dreams to this day
My favourite episode! Not only does it take a hard turn into gay territory, it also drops my favourite truth bomb in the series - accounting *is* fancy as fuck!
In real life the actor who plays Siegfried (Brian Gattas) is married to the actor who plays Officer Hornberry (Connor Barrett), their hostage in the earlier episodes.
You can hear wet sex noises from Lucius and Pete if you turn up the volume. Which most likely means they made a foley artist make those noises.
