Take it from "this" 'Ole man.. This song is truism at it's best. My hat is off to you my dear Sara.
When Sara Bareilles performs live it's just pure music, stripped down, performed with great skill and even greater heart and honesty. It's incredible to me that she's only been nominated for one Grammy and didn't even win. If we transported all of our musicians to a time before all of this sound editing and autotuning was a thing, Sara Bareilles probably would be celebrated more than most of our chart-topping female vocalists (except Beyoncé). It's good that audiences who listen to this amazing show understand and value live performance.
+Jonathan Shie This is exactly everything that is 'wrong' with our dear dear World...I couldn't have said this any better buddy...(And I also absolutely agree with the 'except Beyoncé commentary). We can only keep buying 2 each of her Albums and seeing her shows; the same show, 3 times each :-)
She's been nominated for five Grammies . It's true she should have won at least 2 or 3 of those though.

I agree with your Sara comments and when I saw the play in NYC this was wonderful when sung by Dakin Matthews. But Beyonce', really. She is one of the best examples of what is wrong with the music industry. She is talent less, but gets these comments.

Sure wish she would release this song. I was disappointed when it was taken out of the show Waitress when it went to Broadway.
It wasn't taken out of the show. They just cut a verse. It's on the OBC recording.

Just saw the play. Not bad, but not Sara singing it....
Eric istooop Yes, but its not the same. Its more theatrical and less musical.
Of course, give the context that is appropriate...but I enjoy the song as a stand alone.
