Hi Ryan! Thanks for all the info so far! Could you do a video on how to select different types/lengths of webbing? I'm starting to buy pieces of webbing and I'm curious what tac you took on getting matching lengths for highlines/how long is too long, that sort of thing. I feel hesitant to buy really long pieces of webbing because of the weight/bulk and large price tag per individual piece. But I also don't want to buy too short for fear of having a bunch of uselessly short pieces. Any advice or info is welcome. Thanks again!
I will make an episode on that. Good point. But it may be a while so I will answer the best I can now. Knowing the lengths you are going to rig help for example most projects in Yosemite are 250 feet or less. So I have a 300 foot set up that I can use for almost any line there. But I'm doing longer stuff now so I have a 1050 foot piece that allows me to do 450 foot highlines or tape it to Garrison's long pieces for up to 1000. I like having a 100 meter/300 foot set up but when it comes to longer than that, it's nice to buy big stuff. But then it can get to big to carry if you want to just do a 400 foot line. One approach is to buy webbing from Balance Community as they will do sewn loops, buy whatever you want today and you can always add 100 meters to it with square quicklinks when you are in your next phase. Sewn loops are awesome because you can buy progressively. Cheers
Hello. Very informative. Thanks for the video.
Can you please get a lav mic and also start using digital soom in the edits just so I can see on my phone screen what you're doing there.
This video is 3 years old. Our newer ones are significantly better quality now.
@@HowNOT2 oh my, I haven't noticed it was from 3 years ago.
Thanks for the reply!
So...I should be clipped in?
Only one critique : fingerless gloves = fingerless hands
You need the dexterity from your finger tips but the part you grab things with is padded by the gloves. Big wall gloves are built to protect your hands but allow for detailed work. I hope you don't grab ropes with your finger tips ;)
for shits and giggles......... grown man then giggles
Thanks excellent advice, But you seem on the sketchy side so I will probably not take it :P
