Hi, excellent video! Do you know if it`s possible to replace a Macbook pro 13" mid 2010 logicboard core 2 duo (P8600), to a mid 2012 i7 logicboard? I will appreciate your answer! greatings from Argentina!
A question please. Do I have to change the LCD screen LVDS cable. Because I did not see you changing it when you change the logic board. I trimming the 2011 LVDS cable like your way does work and dose not burn the LCD screen.
Awesome video. I already made some upgrades on my old Late 2011 MBPro (changed baterry, fan, thermal paste, HDD for SDD, upgraded RAM) and I would say it's working even better than when I bought it back in 2012. Was wondering if changing the motherboard to a MID 2012 is worth it or not.
Great video! Any recommendations on which replacement logic board to purchase? (My 2012 or 2013 MacBook Pro 13”, with i7, is non-responsive. No lights or fan sounds. The logic board has some white oxidation, which was removed with a touch of alcohol and compressed air). Is the problem likely only the logic board?
Nice tutorial, I was wondering if this swap was possible and everything looks like a direct swap except for the display data cable. My 2011 macbook pro had an i5 originally, I'm considering buying a 2012 i7 logic board. One of the concerns I have is the battery, do you think they have the same/similar specs?
Hey I m in huge problem .. while replacing the dc/power board on my logic board , I accidentally broke the port/stand on which the right speaker cable rests(pried it out). The right speaker doesn't function now and since it's embedded with the logic board I am afraid if there is any hack to get it to work or not; I can't afford to buy a logic board at the moment. Can you pls suggest me some solution. Can this port b fixed somehow? 😟 Model :mid 2014 a1398
Ohh My, if I got you right you pryed out the Right speaker socket from the logic board instead of just prying out the right speaker connector Right, if thats the case it can be fixed, you will need to show it to a shop who fixes macs (has they should have the right tools to do the fix), also again it will depend on the rate of damage, and the fix should be done in a few hours.
Unfortunately I'm currently shopping for logic boards. I own a mid 09 a1286 2.5 core 2 duo. Is it possible to upgrade the logic board to a newer year? If I install a a1286 2011 i5 in my 2009 shell would I face in issues outside of normal??
HI you can replace the connector cable yourself but a bit difficult or seek help ( th-cam.com/video/DSolxo06yb0/w-d-xo.html ) the buying link for the connector cable is in the description

Hi I have a question for for you though, I've noticed that you replaced the heatsink but you did not replace the GPU metal sink! Was that cos you needed a different one and you got to it later or the new board won't need one? Is it ok to replace it for a i7 motherboard if my model is i5 or does it need to be i5 too? Thank you for the amazing tutorial it helped a lot but those are my two only concerns. Thank you

When I want to reinsall operating system by recovery mode I only see Mountain Lion but I have High Sierra. Is this a problem?
Hope you have backed up your data on another drive? Do a fresh install of High Sierra on the drive it should work, then update files etc using the backup.
I think the logic board's system has mountain lion on it, that's why
So swapping/upgrading logic board you loose all your data (pictures/videos/docs) from the storage drive?
no you won't, only if you make a fresh install, to be on a safer side better to take a backup of the drive.
