That's the positive energy I'm trying to bring to the Island as well. I've found that same response also. In regards to our project, everyone there has been so kind. You get back what you put out. God bless my friend. ❤
So when buying property in San Pedro can you own a gulf cart? Because I heard you can't bring one. $1000 a month to rent one isn't realistic for most. And who wants to throw away that kinda money on transportation Each Month 😢
As typical Will,, you put it straight and to the point, gracefully honest. Thank you Will❤ I bartend at the airport in Charleston SC, and we WILL be moving to Belize next year,, but I can't stop talking to people at the airport about Belize. I can't wait til we get to call it home.
Yes! I can’t wait to visit and actually start planning our permanent move to Belize. So exciting doing my research. Love your videos, very informative.
I am still watching the video so I apologize if you end up mentioning it. But I see that you are wearing a Remax shirt, are you a realtor? What are the average home prices in the different parts and which areas do you recommend most and why? What do the homes offer or how do they differ from American homes? What would you need as an American buying a home there. I was looking at San Pedro but if you have better recommendations, I would love to know. Thank you in advance!
The points you make about coming in with a good attitude are valid for any country in central America and more I expect No one likes a smart-ass that thinks they know all about a place they are new too It takes time to feel the pace of anywhere new you go New comers are always better off taking a relaxed, take it as it comes approach Wise words will.. top job 👍
I've been watching your vids ever since Passport Heavy came through and am finally heading down the last week of Oct. I've been looking at expat communities all over the world and decided that something close to home would be best since family members are getting older and I don't want to have an 18hr flight separating us. I'm crossing my fingers that the weather will be decent.
It's great to hear that Passport heavy and my videos have been helpful in your journey! Finding a community close to home sounds like a wise choice, especially with family in mind. I hope you have a fantastic time and that the weather cooperates!
I’m a Floridian…housing has been so expensive…luckily I own my own business that helps me “survive” here…if I ever decided to move to Belize…is there a demand for dog grooming? Or will there be an opportunity for growth in that field?
Belize City is a beautiful city that most tourists tend to avoid bc of its stigma. I agree with Will, as long as ur not doing anything crazy, illegal, or disrespectful then you’ll have no problem.
I am too in the process of semi-retire in Belize, although San Pedro appears to be a compromised solution since it has no direct road link to the mainland, you pointed it out in other videos building in San Pedro could be pricier due to transport costs of the pre-built houses to the island and everything is only accessible by air or barge. Also the Ambregris Caye is a very shallow land mass with approx. average of 10 ft. above sea levels. Makes me nervous. Nevertheless I choose San pedro for my business base and looking to buy much more affordable property on the mainland and closer to lumber yards and way outs to Mexico, etc. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
What you give is what you get. So. True. My wife and I had the best experience while living there. The people are the best. Made some life long friends, including Armando and Leylo, among others. And although San Pedro didn’t work for us, a piece of us is still there.
Will, Enjoyed this video. Heading down to Caye Caulker in three weeks for the first time ever trip to Belize. As you have been there for many years do you have any commentary as to the health care for people who might be looking at the expat route? Doing the exploratory circuit, Costa Rica, Roatan, Oaxaca and am trying to drill down into the real healthcare situations available. What are your thoughts?
I am working 7 days a week trying to save up enough to buy property in Belize. It’s such an amazing place. I really really hope it doesn’t get over crowded but I don’t blame people for going. How much did your samurai Jimny cost down there? And is it diesel?
Thank you for putting this out. I'm so sick of (typically white Americans) saying how dangerous Belize and going by the US State dept reports. And especially some of the Black american (normally the women) having demanding personalities, and visiting Belize with their negative attitude and wondering why they didn't get what they wanted out of their trip.
Lol. You forgot to mention that while driving on the highway, to expect to get passed all the time until they adapt and start driving like the locals, oh and to watch out for the sleeping policeman (aka the speed bumps) on the highway. Lol
Two things I get is crime and pay. If people would just look at the tab, it will say BZE. The mathe super easy, but people always get stuck on is it US or BZE. It says it right on ticket so you can be a little less tourist if someone can pay attention. Crime is definitely Belize City...It's a city. Just pay attention like any other city. Don't be stupid in a city...basics yo. If you hop over for tourist spots then talk with the locals around. Your bar tenders usually have the better interest for you. If you have been then I guarantee you they will be their and remember your name. Belize is a destination to bring gifts back cause they missed Xmas in states. Drop phone!
Kriol is the primary language. In reality, most Belizeans speak English to convenience foreigners who would not understand the different languages spoken. Oh, we're always willing to teach if you're interested.

Love the section on 'big talkers'. It would be great to see a video about the best ways to get engaged and make an impact locally.
We can definitely put that together. Some info on different initiatives that we already work with and are vetted
Such great info as always, love the positive energy. Sounds like everybody needs to move to Belize!

Doesn't sound like fun at all, especially the crime part. Seems like solid buisness opportunities.
